Anaheim Gazette WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23, 1952 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA Cycling Photog To Present Forum Program Stan Midgley, the cycling cinematographer, and his colored motion pictures of Yellowstone and the 1952 Rose Parade will reopen the Monday night forum series in the Anaheim Union high school auditorium on Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. The forum programs, presented under auspices of the Anaheim Union evening high school, will continue each Monday evening throughout the spring, according to W. Ralph Focht, principal. All programs are presented without charge. In the Monday night opener of the series, Midley's film follows the Grand Loop road through Yellowstone in a counter-clockwise direction! West Thumb Geyser basin, Yellowstone Lake, Fishing Bridge, the Canyon and its magnificent waterfalls, Mt. Washburn, the Terraces at Mammouth are presented in that order. Highlights also include the beautiful eruption of Castle Geyser, Riverside Geyser and its rainbows, moonlight on the Upper Geyser basin, and finally Old Faithful playing majestically in a moving Wyoming sunset. The movie story of this bike trip is fast moving and humorous throughout and leaves little doubt why Stan Midgley is often called "the Mark Twain of the camera." Midgley, long a favorite with Anaheim foreign audiences, has pedaled the width and breadth of the nation recording the countries scenic highspots. Hoag Hospital Building Goes On Despite Storms Recent heavy rains which bleed all Southern California did damage to the Hoag Memorial Hospital, Presbyterian, other than to hold up construction for about two days. With the building program well ahead of schedule, the delay is unimportant. Pouring the roof slabs is now going forward on the last section of the great building which is 365 feet east to west, and both east and west wings are already rooftop over. Fund raising to furnish an equip the hospital is going ahead in several sections of the county but more activity in this direction is expected with the start of the New Year. With the $250,000 be raised, over-all quotas have been allocated to various county areas with Santa Ana-Tustin and heading the list with a quota $90,000. Interested persons making inquiry regarding the co-of Memorial Features and already a number of well-known country names are listed for memorials to be installed by the time the hospital is ready to open, expected to be September this year. Laying of a main water line along the highway and across corner of the hospital property in the city of Newport Beach is not finished, and plans are being made to surface the roadway to the hospital site, as soon as the land settles. For Health, Eat California Fruits The movie story of this bike trip is fast moving and humorous throughout and leaves little doubt why Stan Midgley is often called "the Mark Twain of the camera." Midgley, long a favorite with Anaheim foreign audiences, has pedaled the width and breadth of the nation recording the countries scenic highspots.
