Colors Outstanding Feature of New Savanna School
Five bright hues which make up the color scheme of the new $550,000 Savanna School on E. Cerritos ave., near Western, are causing passersby to stop in admiration.
Supt. Wayne L. Butterbaugh is responsible for the unique use of colors. He believes the bright exterior paint job will create interest as the "small fry" approach the school. He is anxious to see the effect the cheerful environment will have on the 450 children from the old Savanna and Stanton schools as they file into the new institution for the first time Jan. 2.
Predominate color on the exterior is a bright blue green on three walls and wooden louvers outside. Ceilings of the corridors between the buildings is rich sunlight yellow. Walls on the south, east and west and blue green but on the north are a coral shade.
Windows are trimmed in aqua green. Pipe columns; arcade ceilings and rain gutters are done in burnt red.
The attractive landscaping was done by the Botts Nursery of Anaheim.
