Local Building and Loan Assn. Marks 30th Anniversary with New Quarters
Following the post-war trend along Anaheim's main business thoroughfare, Anaheim Building and Loan Assn. has completely remodeled, inside and out, its quarters at the corner of W. Center and Lemon sts.
Appropriately enough, the remodeling came in the 30th year of the association's life—the anniversary was celebrated last June 20—and marks another step forward for a progressive local institution.
New Techniques Added
As new, improved techniques have become available, Anaheim Building and Loan Assn. has taken advantage of them. For instance, the latest model of the National Cash Register Co.'s bookkeeping machine was installed recently to provide more efficient, accurate and speedy service.
Remodeling of the office and cabinet construction were under the supervision of Glenn G. Fry, general contractor. Plumbing was installed by R. Joe Quast; painting and decorating under Sven Harberg; plastering by O. M. McDonald and tile, linoleum and fixture coverings were installed by Owston Shade and Linoleum shop.
Additional Space Taken
To provide more spacious quarters to include a board room, ladies lounge, escrow room and private conference room, the old conference room, the old quarters of Drs. Homer Nelson and Warren Hollingsworth, optometrists, and the Van de Camp bakery quarters were added to the Building and Loan quarters. The booth room and ladies lounge now copy the space formerly occupied by the optometrists.
Automatic heating and ventilation equipment was installed by Soden Refrigeration Specialty Co. Shadowless indirect light was installed by the Stueckle Electrical Co.
Paintings by Lagunan
Pictorial decoration was provided by Dickerstaff, a Lagun Beach artist who also did paintings for the Fresno office of Anaheim Building and Loan Assn. at the Southern County Bank. Cluded are desert and mountain scenes in oils and water color.
Cellings throughout the office are of acoustic celotex, and crows, board and private conference rooms are sound-proofed.
Congratulations!
