VFW Auxiliary Bazaar Set With Dorothy Mallonee as general chairman, Anaheim VFW Auxiliary will stage its annual bazaar Friday and Saturday in the VFW hall, 108 N. Philadelphia st. Lunch will be served under the direction of Florence Carroll and the bazaar will also feature fancy work, cooked food, a country store and white elephant sale. Opening time is 10 a.m. Magnolia Study Club Honors Junior Members The Magnolia Study club met Wednesday in the Stanton Lions Community clubhouse. Mrs. Edgar B. Carson was hostess assisted by Mrs. Ernest Zimmer, Mrs. William W. Dudley and Mrs. William Ramm to 22 regular members and 23 guests, the majority of which were the honor guests from the Magnolia Junior Study club, made up from daughters of the senior club with Mrs. Gordon Swaffor as president. In the absence of the president, Mrs. Fred C. Law, the meeting was conducted by Mrs. Dan Marschall. Mrs. P. C. Huddleston welcomed the junior at the dessert luncheon. Mrs. Carson, program chairman for the day, introduced Mrs. C. K. Matthew of Santa Ana, world traveler, as the speaker. She talked of her native country, France, and highlighted her address with information about perfumes and the social customs of her people. Mrs. Matthew was a Red Cross Officers Elected By Marywood Club Mrs. John Larson was elected president of Marywood Mothers club at a recent meeting of the organization. Vice president is Mrs. William Bushman; secretary Mrs. B. Bagdon; treasurer, Mrs. Lee Fabian. It was reported that a food sale will be held at St. Boniface Sunday after all of the masses. Christmas centerpieces, wreaths and decorations will also be sold. The Mothers club will sponsor dancing lessons at the school next month. Appointed to the Ways and Means committee were Mrs. Victor Peltzer, Mrs. Joe Huarte and Mrs. Bromich. Publicity chairman is Mrs. John Truxaw and membership chairman, Mrs. Peter Schmitz. Fuchsia Society To Name Officers The Orange county branch of the National Fuchsia society will meet at 8 o'clock Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Anaheim Legion hall, 936 N. Lemon st. Included on the program will be election of officers, a talk by Carl Fisher of Fisher's nurseries on "Rex Begonias," a plant sale and exchange of birthday plants. HONEYMOON IN DENVER was planned by Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Handsell following double ring services Friday evening (Arsene photo) Barbara Meyer-James Handsel Say Vows at Presbyterian Church Friday White china chrysanthemums and red oak leaves were arranged on the altar of the First Presbyterian church in this city for candlelight wedding services which united Miss Barbara LaVerne Meyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Meyer of Lincoln ave., and James Robert Handsel of Buena Park. The Rev. Proward S. Congdon officiated at the double ring nuptials, read at 8 p.m., Friday. Silver thread was embroidered through the ruffle at the off shoulder line of the bride's gown of heavy white brocade. A matching peplum graced the full skirt which fell into a cathedral train. Her tiered veil of French illusion net was held by a Juliet cap encrusted with seed pearls and shaped in a leaf design and she carried white spider chrysanthemums centered with a large lavender orchid and a white Bible. A gown of powder blue brocade satin was worn by Mrs. Arthur Rozell, matron of honor. Tiny buttons to the waist and a softly scalloped neckline detailed the bodice. Unpressed pleats formed a side fullness in the skirt with pressed pleats at the front. She carried cerise grapes in cerise and lavender satin leaved with deep toned lavender chrysanthemums. Bridesmaids, dressed like the matron of honor, were Miss Frances Plou, Miss Barbara Bennett, Mrs. Bill Almond and Miss Virginia Hillskemper. Miniature copies of the bride maids bouquets were carried in flower girls, Valerie Ladd and Cheryl Morris who wore low dresses of ice blue net over blue taffeta. Darlre Anderson was ring bearer. Fred Shan served as best man and ushers were Allan Marri Allan Meyer, Ray Nelson, B.Crandall and Dwight Andersor. "I love Thee" and "Because were selections of the soloist, Rocert Larson, accompanied by Ms Susan Talevich. A five tiered heart shaped wedding cake ice in pale blue centered the bride's table for the reception. It was served by Mr Velma Ladd assisted by Mr Delta Marks. Pouring were Mr Fred Robirds and Miss Marilly Smith. Guest book was passed by Miss Bonnie Stensent and Ms Toni Eldred had charge of gifts. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Meyer chose a floor length gown of rose taupe satin with matching net stole. Her accessories were in orchid and brown and her corsage of orchid beauty carnations with lavender satin leaves Mrs. Handsel was unable to be present. Troop members have decided to go on an excursion once a month and for October went ice skating in Hynes. During meetings held Tuesday afternoons at 3:15 in the Girl Scout House, they are working on the Good Grooming, Ceramics and My Troop badges. Others in our troop not mentioned above are Lucy Fischle, Susan Lilywhite, Margaret Olvera, Virginia Cahallera, Rosie Veyna. By reporter Janice Krah, we find that troop "Experienced a very exciting trip to Rankins Dude Ranch on Skyline Drive. We enjoyed a hike to Peters Lake, also a swim in the beautiful pool. (It was a real hot day during that week-end). "After cooking our lunch over the camp fires, we took a hike. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this short trip to every troop who are working on their bicycle hikes. Formal Induction For 'Y' Groups Approximately 200 Tri-Hi-Y girls of the YMCA will take part in the formal induction service and installation of officers to be held Tuesday evening, Nov. 27 at 7 o'clock in the Presbyterian church. Under the direction of Mrs. Nan Moore, a beautiful and impressive service has been planned and the public is cordially invited. The speaker is Mrs. Robert McCauley, wife of Rev. Robert McCauley of the First Presbyterian church of Orange. Mrs. Wm. Talevich at the organ will play the prelude, processional, postude and accompany the singing. Rev. Phillip Selfridge gives the invocations. Jeannette Koss,the new council president is mistress of ceremonies. Rosemary Poyeti leads the choral reading. Mrs. A. D. Smith will install the officers of the council, the individual Tri-Hi-Y clubs and the Women's Advisory committee. Dolores Giardino will sing Malotte's "The Lord's Prayer." The offertory hymn will be sung by the Mozart girls from Anaheim High School—O. G. (Tommy) Thomason presents the offering which will go to the YMCA World Service Program. The girls who are now members of Tri-Hi-Y will wear formals while the inductees wear white blouses and dark skirts. Since this affair is one of the major events of the Girls' Tri-Hi-Y club program, everyone is urged to attend. Meeting Set for County Retarded Children's Group The Exceptional Child Foundation of Orange county organization of parents and interested in obtaining educational facilities for the mentallyarded, will meet Tuesday, 27, at 8 p.m. at the George Washington school, 233 East Chalkanaheim.
