Permanent County Display Invited In Capitol Annex
SACRAMENTO (CNS) — Officials of Orange county will receive an invitation to submit plans for a permanent display in the state Capitol annex within a week, Fred Links, deputy director of finance, announced today.
Links said one county, San Joaquin, already has submitted its plans, and expects to start installation of the exhibit within a short time.
In designing the Capitol annex, the architects provided an exhibit space for each of the 58 counties of the state. The space is 46 inches wide, 23½ inches deep, and 5 feet. G inches high and is framed in black marble.
Links said all plans for exhibits must be approved by a committee including himself, Justin Childs, building manager, Ned Green. California State Fair manager, Kenneth Frye, also of the state fair, A. C. Morrison, county agricultural commissioner for Sacramento county.
Perishables will not be permitted in the glass enclosed exhibit spaces, Link said. He expects most of the exhibits to consist of maps or drawings, panoramas or other material pertaining to the products of the county. Shelves have been installed in the exhibits, but may be removed if necessary.
