MORRIS 11-13 'Anaheim Gazette TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 1961 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA 'Nature of Human Nature' Is Topic For Forum Meeting "The pursuit of happiness," in which every man of every race throughout the world is engaged, will be discussed Thursday, Nov. 15, at Fullerton's Public Forum when Dr. Ashley Montagu, world renowned scientist, presents his findings on "The Nature of Human Nature" in Fullerton Union High School auditorium. The program begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free to the public. Montagu has spent a lifetime in study of man—his origin, nature, races, customs and development—as a specialist in the field of anthropology. His particular interest has been in bridging the gap between biological differences and social cooperation, with special emphasis on understanding and cooperative welfare between men. As consultant on racial problems to UNESCO, Montagu has worked extensively on current international problems. Searching for fundamental truths upon which security, happiness and progress can be built for the world's two billion inhabitants, he concludes that when we truly understand the nature of human nature we are well on our way toward the better life of universal health and harmony. Recent significant discoveries, the business of scientists, have been made relating to structure and functioning of human nature standing of these discoveries wider scale, he declares, make clearer the direction international social development and provide better understanding of what we can do to make a better world. English-born and American choice since 1940, Dr. Montagu was educated at the University of London and earned his degree in anthropology at Oxford University in 1937. He is a man of the Department ofthropology at Rutgers University, has taught at New York City, and was a visiting lecturer Harvard. In 1948 he led a pedition to Kent, England search of Paleolithic Mine there uncovered many Stone artifacts. In addition to serving as active officer of the UNESCO committee of experts on rare leams, he has produced an edited film, "One World One Sponsored by the National Institute on Atomic Information Film which the NYU Bain Public Opinion termed 'the documentary ever made.'" Montagu is a prolific having produced more than dozen books on various aspects of anthropology and rare book "On Being Human" piled in 1950, was called the "Bible of the year" by the National Education Association. His works are "How to Fight Pain and Keep It." "Man Dangerous Myth, the Fair Race" and "On Being Into the latter one of some hard books published in 1951." Until 1896 Princeton U.
