Anaheim Gazette TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 1951 ANAHEIM CALIFORNIA Exploding Oven At Douglas Plant Kills Four Men LOS ANGELES (UP)—An explosion at a Douglas Aircraft Co plant yesterday killed four men and injured five others. It was the second blast at the plant in two weeks. A curing oven used in making insulation material blew up as it being tested. The oven was a replacement for one which exploded Oct. 28, injuring one workman. Sheriff's Arson Squadmen said "we don't know what happened." The investigation will continue." Earthquake Felt In Pasadena PASADENA (UP) — A strong earthquake centered in the Kurile Islands or possibly in the main islands of Japan, was recorded today on' two California seismographs. The University of California’s laboratory at Berkeley timed the first shock at 8:49.53 a.m. (Pacific Standard Time.) At California Institute of Technology here, it was recorded at 8:30.47, with an aftershock at 8:59.25. MELCHER BOOKED HERE Raymond H.
