Parade

Rade was the "Skid Row" entry of the S. Los Angeles st. Merchants. The float was designed and executed by Leavitt Ford, John O'Kane, Charles Brown and Mrs. Martha Trabert. Floral work was supplied by Mrs. Harry Marcu of Santa Ana. Riding the float were five runners-up from the Miss Slick Chick competition and Mrs. Jewell Shelton, who played witch for the float. The float also took first place in Division 2, Traditional Hallowe'en and first place in floats entered by voluntary organizations.

353 Awards Given In Kiddies' Parade
It was the kids turn to celebrate Hallowe'en yesterday afternoon when 353 youngsters coped ribbons for the Most Beautiful, Most Original, Most Comical, Twin Costumes, Floats, Best Bikes, and Special Awards, out of several hundred costumed children and vehicles entered in the children's parade. Entries were from George Washington, Magnolia No. 1, Loarre Cypress, Savanna, Horace Mann, Lincoln, Fremont, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, St. Boniface, Zion Lutheran, and Katella schools.
