Average sizes of Southern formia valencia oranges were somewhat smaller during the season than they have the recording to a report by the range Administrative committee.

Smaller Valenclas Predicted in 1952
Average sizes of Southern California valencia oranges will run somewhat smaller during the 1952 season than they have this year, according to a report by the Orange Administrative committee. Projecting the results of random measurements of valencias taken in Southern Califronia districts from Oct. 1 to Oct. 5, the committee found, on the basis of average growth, that with few exceptions, the district's orange size would run smaller in 1952. Northern Orange county will run smaller on the average, a drop in size from 249 oranges per box to 272 per box. Anaheim area will be an exception, with sizes jumping from 262 per box to 256 per box. The Olive-Santa Ana canyon area will also register a gain in size from 253 per box this year to 248 per box.

Sixteen persons were injured in Orange county's weekend traffic accidents, to which a dense fog, particularly along the coast, contributed materially, according to the California Highway Patrol. There were no accidents in Northern Orange county.

Ellison, 8, of Santa Ana.

Bank of America today began distributing its latest informative analysis of California's people and economy in a large-size illustrated brochure entitled "Basic California."
California's tremendous recent growth is highlighted in a section on population and retail markets. Other subjects covered by summary and analysis include agriculture.
Alien Arrested on Weapons Charge
Police officers arrested a man carrying a Colt automatic .22 caliber, last evening at the Model Delicatessen, 242 E. Center st.
Tomas Jimenez Gonzales, of 413 S. Claudina st., a 33 year old Mexican national, was sitting at a table in the delicatessen when officer Plaisted and Curtis arrested him. A call from the delicatessen notified police that the man had been "flashing the gun."
When placed under arrest, Gonzales had the automatic stuck in his belt under his shirt, loaded and with the safety catch off. The serial number of the gun had been scratched off.
He was booked on Sections 2 and 5 of the Dangerous Weapons Control law and locked up. These sections deal with carrying a gun without a permit, and an alien carrying a gun without a permit.
Mr. Charles Fay Dies; Funeral Tuesday at 2 P.M.
Charles Fay died Saturday in his home at 511 N. Zion st., Anaheim, at the age of 77.
He was born in Colorado and has been a resident of Anaheim since 1893.
Fay is survived by his wife, Jesse; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Pearson; one grandson, James and one sister, Miss Thessa C. Fay of Anaheim.

California's tremendous recent growth is highlighted in a section on population and retail markets. Other subjects covered by summary and analysis include agriculture, manufacturing, construction, mineral production, automobiles and banking, constituting a study of California as a market for goods and services.
The brochure will soon be available through any of the Bank of America branches to businessmen, civic leaders and professional men.
Charles Tinoco Gets Combat Badge
WITH THE 1ST CAVV. DIV. IN KOREA—Pvt. Charles G. Tinoco, husband of Mrs. Theresa C. Tinoco, 314 Juliane st., Anaheim, Calif., has been awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, a symbol of close-quarter fighting with the enemy, while serving with the 1st Cavalry Division in Korea.
The Badge, consisting of a miniature replica of a Revolutionary War flintlock mounted on a blue background and superimposed on a silver wreath, distinguishes the actual fighting men from rear Charles Fay died Saturday in his home at 511 N. Zion st., Anaheim, at the age of 77.
He was born in Colorado and has been a resident of Anaheim since 1893.
Fay is survived by his wife, Jesse; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Pearson; one grandson, James and one sister, Miss Thessa C. Fay of Anaheim.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a 50-year member of the IOOF of Anaheim, a member of the Masonic Lodge and the local Rotary Club. He was also a member of the city council years ago, and superintendent of the local cemetery.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 at the chapel of Backs, Campbell and Kaulbars with the Rev. Howard S. Congden officiating. Interment will be held at Fairhaven.
