Attend Local Churches Christian Science "The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it." So reads one of the Proverbs of Solomon (10:22) which is used as the Golden Text of the Sunday lesson-sermon on "Unreality" in all Christian Science churches. The Bible selections point out the way to surmount the daily problems which tend to weaken, frighten or destroy. The hungry, five thousand of them, according to John's Gospel, were fed by Jesus with five barley loaves and two fishes, and we read that "When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten" (6:12, 13). Mary Baker Eddy writes in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: "In the scientific relation of God to man, we find that whatever blesses one blesses all, as Jesus showed with the loaves and the fishes—Spirit, not matter, being the source of supply" (p. 206). Newspapermen pride themselves on presenting terse, concise, accurate accounts of what happens. They have a responsibility to their readers—to present the news as it happens. Newspapers are a living chronicle of the history of the cities in which they are printed. The Anaheim Gazette, for example, is the only existing chronicle of the happenings of Anaheim since 1870 when it was founded. There have been other newspapers, but the Gazette, through its continuous service to Anaheim and its environs has done the job longer and better than most of its competitors who have long since gone out of business. Like most great newspapers, the Gazette's keystone is service to both its readers and advertisers. For years, Anaheim had a daily newspaper, but the Gazette's publishers felt that there was a need for another daily. The public acceptance of the Daily Gazette reflected by circulation figures proved them right. As part of America's great heritage, the Gazette is proud to play its part in safeguarding the liberties and freedom of the American people. Like all Americans, Anaheimers are newspaper conscious. During the lifetimes of most newspaper readers, radio and television have become outstanding information disseminating media. Both serve their purpose well, but so far nothing has been found to surpass the printed word. Newspapers inform, entertain and sell through news, feature and advertising columns. They are part and parcel of the great American heritage. NITECAPSULE—all work and no play makes jack. To make enough cream sauce for a quarter pound of dried beef you'll need two cups of milk mixed with a quarter cup of butter or margarine that has been blended with a quarter cup of flour. This makes a medium-thick sauce; if you like a sauce that's a little thinner, add a quarter cup more milk. Sweet potatoes, topped with crisp bacon and accompanied by buttered green snap beans, make a delicious main course for lunch. Add a tossed green salad to the menu if you like and hot rolls.
