I DON'T GEE WHY MUSKRAT IS NEVER HEARD A MUSKRAT CO Visiting Nurse Association Has Proven Its Worth in Anaheim There are many times when skilled nursing care is needed by persons ill at home, even though the services of a full time nurse may not be necessary. Many persons are not aware of the fact that a service such as this is available to anyone living in Orange county, yet "within the reach of your phone" is the nursing service of one of the seven professional staff nurses of the Visiting Nurse association, a Community Chest agency. Many patients with serious heart conditions or other long-term illnesses are visited several times each week by a nurse. She gives them necessary nursing care and injections, or treatments, ordered by their physician. Very often these patients would have to be hospitalized if nursing care at home were not available. The nurse also teaches mothers many facts about maternal and infant care. No longer do mothers have to learn by trial and error how to prepare the home for the baby's arrival, the clothing and equipment to buy, how to bathe, feed and dress the child, the nurse can make these demonstrations in one or two visits. Further information about the Visiting Nurse Association of Orange county may be obtained by calling the Santa Ana office—KI 3-5686, or Mrs. Afton Reinert—Anaheim 4736. The V.N.A. service has been en by the constant increase of patients and families served year. There were 11,487 made to 759 patients during as compared with 3804 visits to 340 patients the first year. The V.N.A. staff carries aneralized nursing program for patients of all ages. A consider portion of the nursing service spent in administering part nursing care. Bedside care, tions, surgical dressings and types of nursing treatment provided as ordered by the physician. A healthy community is a b community. Help keep Ana such a community by contrib generously to your Comm Chest.
