For Results and Quick Anaheim Gazette by JOHN S. NEUBAUER We must obey God—Acts 5:29. CALIFORNIANA — The first battle between United States forces and Californianos under the leadership of Sebulo Varela and Jose del Carmen Lugo took place on Isaac Williams' Chino Rancho Sept. 26, 1846. The Californianos won. PLACENTIA—Louis Jacobsen is one of Placentia's greatest boosters. He's a great sportsman. John Tyner, the Placentia city councilman and Valencia hi coach, may give Placentia something to shout about—an Orange county league football title. Sammy Reymundo, Rickery de Casas, et al from last year's super middle-weight squad might turn the trick. Even W. P. (Bill) Purdy would like to see this year's football team make athletic history. Frank Rospaw, the sagacious sage of Placentia, hasn't said anything yet, but wait till the team really starts rolling... Rudy Casillas, Placentia's pitching ace, is throwing for 4'Hers to Talk on Davis Conference. Eddie Carnegie, Placentia Tiger 4-H club member, who recently attended the Davis Junior Leader conference, will tell Orange county, 4-H club leaders and junior leaders about the conference at the October meeting of the Leader's Council, which will be held at the Farm Bureau half, Oct. 1, 7:30 p.m., reports Lora Ward, 4-H club Home Advisor. Eddie Carnegie and Gladys Postlethwaite were selected as outstanding 4-H club junior leaders and received scholarships from the Bank of America for attending the conference. This report will enable all leaders and junior leaders to share the information gained by the two delegates. Plans for the coming Achievement Night program of Oct. 4, will be discussed by the group, and reports of club work will be given by each 4-H leader. Names of outstanding 4-H club members will be submitted to the secretary so that proper recognition may be given them at the Achievement Night program. Robert Rubottom of La Habra, the new council chairman, will be in charge of the meeting. Guests at the meeting will be Mr. and Mrs. Merril K. Riley. Mr. LEGAL NOTICES (Pub.
