WEATHERWISE — Warm yesterday; hotter today; hotter tomorrow.
NEWSWISE — A 49-year-old Placeia woman, Mrs. Ruth Parks, was one of 19 Greyhound bus passengers injured in a bus-pickup crash south of Indio. After hitting the truck, the transcontinental bus plunged into the All-American canal. A thousand feet of the beach front on either side of the mouth of the Santa Ana river was placed under quarantine after a break of the joint outfall sewer line between the chlorinator plant and the marine outfall. Orange county milk prices are to be upped a cent provided the Office of Price Stabilization approves. Bruce Campbell, chief of the state milk control bureau, said the price raise was justified as dairymen were required to pay more for feed, labor and other items. The annual flight of the snowbirds was held Five couples got marriage licenses. And three Anaheimers came to the end of that long, long trail that leads home. Robert and Pauline Marze welcomed a little stranger. The Murvin Killenbecks have a son. Frank Barruga was passing out the ceeigars—a new son. Charles Meeks, likewise, has an heir. Don and Evalyn Fergus have a son. Papa is a manufacturing engineer for the Fluor corporation. Albert and Gladys Malmroe got a marriage license. So did Maryin Flugge and Lana Powell. Charles Barnard and Joanne Winters said their vows. Harry Gilbert of San Francisco and Marlin Merrill of Anaheim are newlyweds. William Pauldo and Jessee Lugo also got a marriage license. Mrs. Barbara L. Steadman who has seen Anaheim grow from an agricultural colony to a thriving industrial city died in the 87th year of her life. She came to Anaheim in 1887 from Germany. D. D. Stall, an Anaheimer for 50 years died at the age of 71. Mrs. Margaret Hayes, 70, an Anaheimer of 13 years' standing, also passed on last week.

ACCIDENT REPORT—Highway accidents in rural Orange county have been twice as high as last year. Harry Meekan of the highway patrol revealed. Fifty-five people were killed in unincorporated areas between Jan. 1 and July 15, 1951. Nearly half of the death-dealing accidents occurred at night. Coroner Earl Abbey's records show that 60 persons have died from auto fatalities in Orange county during the first six months of this year. Drive carefully.
COURTOPIX — George Chula and James Monroe, Henry Ford McCracken's defense attorneys, were expected to make their final appeal in their client's behalf today. They had "new evidence" to present. It is not expected that the case will be presented to the jury of six men and six women before tomorrow or Wednesday.
Ignacio Castrellen, 43, was sentenced to a year in the county jail for possession of a deadly weapon. He was freed of the charge of murdering Ignacio Vasquez in front of a Capistrano Beach cafe after witnesses testified that he acted in self defense.
A prominent Bellflower businessman, Arlle Van den Berg, was given a two month term in jail as a condition of his three years' probation on a misdemeanor slaughter charge growing out of a collision with a sheriff's car.
SPORTSWISE — Anaheim's Roaring Rainbows failed to win the Brea Dad's Softball tournament, but they held Fullerton, the winner, to a close, 17-16 score.
Anaheim's Optimist club honored its sonbox derbists last quarantine after a break of the joint outfall sewer line between the chlorinator plant and the marine outfall...Orange county milk prices are to be upped a cent provided the Office of Price Stabilization approves. Bruce Campbell, chief of the state milk control bureau, said the price raise was justified as dairymen were required to pay more for feed, labor and other items...The annual flight of the snowbirds was held in Newport Bay yesterday; 150 youthful skippers from all parts of the southland participated in the harbor sailing event...
