Savanna Unit Starts Study in Fire Defense
The council of the Savanna Civil Defense unit met Saturday at its regular bi-monthly noon conference in the clubroom of the Stanton Community church.

As a good citizen, a scout obeys traffic laws, respects other people's property, keeps up control. To relieve unnecessary strain on doctors and nurses there are health and first aid rules to follow to avoid sickness and injury.
And then in case of actual disaster there is quite a list of things a child can do, from learning the shortest way from school to home to learning what to do if electricity and water supply are cut off in the home.
Anaheim youngsters are fortunate to have service organizations like the 4-H club and the Girl Scouts. Is your youngster taking full advantage of the opportunities offered?
Seek Permit for Seal Beach Poker
SEAL BEACH (UP)—Three residents, one of them an owner of the Airport club, will circulate a petition for adoption of an ordinance licensing draw poker.
A legal notice, signed by James J. Arnerich, Mrs. Louise White and Raymond P. Dawson, has been filed. Arnerich is an owner of the Airport club, plush draw poker palace on the Orange county-Lo Angeles county line. The Airport club is now licensed by the city but the state attorney general's office recently said that the club does not meet the requirements of current ordinances—limiting legal draw poker to non-profit groups.
GRASSHOPPER PLAGUE MAY MENACE RIVERSIDE COUNTY
RIVERSIDE (UP) — The largest infestation of grasshoppers in Riverside county's history is now germinating, says County Agricultural Bureau.
ADRIAN L. WOLFERT, HERMAN C. WEDEL, MELVIN S. HUSS, FRANK Martinez, MRS. CARL E. KORN, ELTON C. SNAVELY, EASTWOOD FORKER AND BESWICK.
