Fifty-seven members of the employees' families attended an open case at the Anaheim plant in the early afternoon, and were given opportunity to see where their mothers, mothers, wives or husbands worked during a tour of the manufacturing area. The children cookies and soda pop, while parents were given silicone eyeglass wipers and tubes of Glyptal cement as souvenirs of the occasion. J. B. Holmes, superintendent of manufacturing, addressed the group of visitors and commended the employees on their fine safety record. In the evening, all the General Electric Anaheim plant employees gathered at the Elks club for an informal get-together and dinner. Acting as toastmaster Was Al Albarian, who initiated the festivities by introducing the newcomers of the Anaheim plant: Viola Tschann, secretary to the accounting office; Ken Raymond, of the engineering group; Ross Taylor, resin maker; Dean Daniles, of the Los Angeles sales office, and his secretary Ora Weber; and Bill Giegold, the new process engineer who arriver in Anaheim from Schnecktady just in time for the celebration. Jealous Youth Demands 'Wife Or Your Life' BOSTON — A young bridegroom told police yesterday that he was held prisoner in a car for about an hour by a jealous youth who gave him this choice—your wife or your life. Charles B. Irving, 21, married four months, told police that he was called over to a parked car near his home and then pulled inside. He said he was held captive on a wild ride during which a boy of 16 told him over and over again: "If you don't divorce her, I'll kill you. Either that or you get away from her for about eight months and by that time I'll take her away from you." Irving, whose wife is 16, said he was repeatedly threatened with death before being forced from the car by the jealous youth. Police said a 16-year-old whom they did not identify was taken in custody later and will face a charge of juvenile delinquency. They quoted him as saying he "thought he had an understanding" with Mrs. Irving before her marriage. Marshall (Continued from Page 1) proposals ought to be acceptable to other members of the United Nations. But he said that if they were not, the United States should "go it alone." WASHINGTON (P) — Secretary of Defense Marshall indicated to Senators today that the United States stands ready to "initiate damaging naval and air attacks" on communist China if she strikes at American forces outside Korea. This was one of 16 points in a Jan. 12 memorandum of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, of which Marshall told Senators some were being put into effect and others held in abeyance. KY GE EMPLOYEE—Charles Burns, center, resin-maker at General Electric's Anaheim plant, has his shoe size checked by Annett Engstrom of GE's accounting department, left, while B. Holmes, superintendent of manufacturing looks on. Burns took the door prize, a pair of safety shoes, at a banquet Friday evening in Anaheim Elks club when the plant celebrated its fourth anniversary and 3½ years of no lost-time accidents. Is Opposing New Relief Measure "Now is not the time to add another entirely new kind of relief expenditure to the four kinds under which 7989 people in Orange county received $476,271 during the one month of March, 1951 and 494,226 people in California received $27,587,396." California Taxpayers' association said today, cautioning against the proposed "aid to the totally and permanently disabled" measure which is before the state legislature. "California's relief program is already the most generous in the nation," the association declared. Direct aid is paid for the needy aged, the needy blind and the parially self-supporting blind, and needy children. General home relief cares for any needy people not covered by the other types of direct relief, so that no person in need is left without public assistance.
