Anaheim Gazette MONDAY, APRIL 6, 1951 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA Versatile Topper Golfers Added To 'Hall of Fame' AUGUSTA (PA)—The "Big Four" of present day women's professional golf have been named join six amateur charter members in the Hall of Fame of women golf. Babe Zaharias of Tampa, was first choice, the Hall's board of selectors announced yesterday. Winner of every major title women's golf, she polled nine votes. Louis Suggs of Carrollton, received eight votes; Patty B. of Minneapolis got seven; Betty Jameson of San Antonio Texas, four. Last year the board selected Beatrix Hoyt, Margaret Curie Alexa Stirling, Dorothy Campbell Hurd, Virginia Van Wie and Glenna Collett Vare as chair members. The world's first supersonic peller "spinpit" is scheduled to in operation early this year by Aeroproducts Division of Gene Motors. Developed under contract with the Navy, the pit will be used to test propellers designed to tate at supersonic, or faster than sound, speeds.
