(Gazette photo by Kreidt) Doll Collectors Show Work on Costumes And Restoration at Meeting in Ives Home A fascinating collection of old dolls, beautifully costumed and carefully restored, were exhibited at a meeting of Anaheim Doll collectors club last night in the home of Mrs. Mabel Ives, with Mrs. Evelyn Tikker as co-hostess. Mrs. Harvey Rice Heads Euclid Home Department Mrs. Harvey Rice was elected head of Euclid homemakers Wed. Surprise Layette Shower at Meeting Of 500 Club Mrs. Thomas Baroldi of 10521 S. Hansen ave., was surprised Friday night, when at the conclusion of the regular monthly meeting of the 500 Club, the hostess, Mrs. Elton Snavely served strawberry Doll Collectors Show Work on Costumes And Restoration at Meeting in Ives Home A fascinating collection of old dolls, beautifully costumed and carefully restored, were exhibited at a meeting of Anaheim Doll collectors club last night in the home of Mrs. Mabel Ives, with Mrs. Evelyn Tikker as co-hostess. During the meeting a letter was read from the national Doll collectors club accepting application from the local organization, the national club also sent several interesting pictures of dolls which were shown. Plans were made for a visit to the Los Angeles club next Thursday and for the next work shop evening to be held in June. Mrs. Julia Salisbury presented a talk on the unique city of Jerome, Arizona, where she lived for several years. She discussed the structure of the unique mining town, built on the side of a mountain and presented a short history of it. Mrs. Salisbury also entertained on an old fashion organ. Mrs. Evelyn Robinson was taken in as a new member. Members who attended the hobby show in Los Angeles discussed the doll exhibits there. 14 members and one guest were served. At the conclusion of the business meeting, refreshments were served. Mrs. Harvey Rice Heads Euclid Home Department Mrs. Harvey Rice was elected head of Euclid homemakers Wednesday when the group met in the home of Mrs. Joe Lemons, on Euclid ave., with Mrs. Marten Geissler as hostess. Marian Prentiss, home advisor, spoke on "Household Pests and Their Control," and also outlined the program for County Home Department Day to be held May 2, in the Ebell clubhouse. Pot luck luncheon will be served in the City park at noon. Included in the all day meeting will be the modeling of clothes made in tailoring classes by department members. The importance of adding milk to the diet was stressed by Mrs. Jacobsen and Mrs. Geissler, who baked biscuits with powdered milk and discussed its value as a supplement to the diet. Family relations letter was written by Marie Everett of the county department. Subject was "Is Your Husband a Stranger?" Mrs. Wayne Jones was appointed family relations chairman for the Euclid group. Guests at the meeting were: Mrs. Hal Johnson and Mrs. Alvin Penhall. Mrs. Harley Hesse, retiring president, presided. Mrs. G. J. Clasen is retiring family relations chairman. A pot luck luncheon was served. Niles Honored At Housewarming Neighbors and friends of Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Niles, Starr rd., honored the couple at a surprise housewarning Wednesday night at their newly built home. Climax of the evening came when Mrs. Hazel.Kissell presented the honorees with an attractive television lamp on behalf of the group. Refreshments were then served by Mrs. Herbert Cook and Surprise Layette Shower at Meeting Of 500 Club Mrs. Thomas Baroldi of 10521 S. The napkins were fashioned into baby kimonas. A beautiful array of gifts were presented the honoree for her layette. The attractive new recreation room on the rear of the Snavely property, 6802 E. Ball rd., was the scene of the party. Members present were Mmes. Arthur Strahler and George Kitchens, Jr., tied for top score; Mmes. John Gautschy, William Drake, Anthony F. Parra, John Cooke and her sister Mrs. John A. Karrakar. Special guests were Mmes. Lewis McBratney, Marie Eckert and Chris Clodt who had low score. Sandra Yvonne Paulus is the name of the eight pound, ten and a half ounce daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Paulus, 534 W. Chestnut, born at St. Joseph hospital Wednesday morning at 9:32 a.m. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gresham of Colorado. Miss Marcell is a graduate of AUHS, attended Fullerton JC and graduated from Santa Barbara State college. She is now employed in the engineering department of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co., in Santa Ana. Her fiance, is a graduate of Fullerton high school, attended FJC and was graduated from Colorado university where he majored in pharmacy. He is affiliated with Sigma Chi fraternity and is presently employed as pharmacist in Long Beach. At Housewarming Neighbors and friends of Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Niles, Starr rd., honored the couple at a surprise housewarming Wednesday night at their newly built home. Mrs. Gene Tingley presided over the meeting and Mrs. Mary Swindler was hospitality chairman. Mrs. Lloyd Lichenwalter was in charge of the dining room which was decorated in spring flowers. Centerpiece on the head table was a miniature model of San Angeles Crest Christian Camp. Mrs. James Baker, council president, called on each circle president for a report on her meeting of the preceding month. Mrs. Harold Moist gave a work report. Mrs. R. P. McFeee was appointed church emergency aid leader. Scripture was read by Mrs. George Watts, Jr. Don Suydam was introduced by Mrs. Al Casebeer and presented two vocal selections accompanied by the Rev. Al Casebeer. Mrs. Marion Henry led community singing. Theme for the day was San Angeles Crest Camp with the sub- St. Boniface P-TA Plans Rummage Sale Under the direction of Mrs. George Tokar, Mrs. Gus Lenain and Mrs. Charles Rees, members of St. Boniface P-TA ways and means committee met to formulate plans for the bazaar to be sponsored by the organization on April 29. It was reported that the paper drive has been completed and proceeds will be used for the bazaar. Alaska Pictures At Begonia Meet Orange County Branch of the American Begonia Society held its April meeting last night in the Farm Bureau hall, 353 S. Main, Orange. At the conclusion of a short business session, Mr. Sutton of Orange, showed some unusual pictures taken by his son in Alaska and Europe. Many of these pictures were taken from an airplane. A plant and white elephant sale was held, with members bringing some of the plants, and others obtained through a nursery.
