Anaheim Water Continued from Page, 7 second feet, for the Orange county Water district, which is spreading it underground in the spreading grounds 20 miles down the river, northeast of Anaheim. Leading on from the Santa Ana river, the MWD line proceeds north to a point near Fontana, turns westward again, following Foothill boulevard through Upland and Claremont to the filtering plant at La Verne. The elevation over most of that route held at about 1000 feet, after dropping from Lake Mathews' 1405 feet to the low point at the Santa Ana river crossing, about 750 feet. From the filter plant, about 285 miles from the Colorado river, the Orange county feeder line breaks away for its home stretch run to Anaheim, crossing the Pomona valley, climbing over the Brea hills, where it touches the Orange county reservoir (200 acre feet capacity), and rolls down into the Santa Ana valley to Anaheim.
