Mexican Trip For Anaheim Ikes Four chapters of Izaak Walton league were represented this weekend on an excursion to Santa Maria Beach, 132 miles below Ensenada, Mexico. Anaheim chapter was represented by Jewel Selby, Don Brown, Ronald Roseberry and his dad, E. L. Roseberry, Steve Owen and Wayne Held. Other chapters were Riverside, Garden Grove and San Gabriel. The group left Friday and returned Sunday. They brought back 150 pounds of clam meat, obtained almost at the cost of their lives during a small Mexican uprising, and white perch, weighing 2 to 3½ pounds a piece. The clams measured from five to 10 inches in diameter. The adventurers left at 8 p.m. and drove the distance in eight hours. They camped out. They reported the surrounding countryside was completely desolate except for a few Mexican huts and a beachcomber. Mariners Enjoy Pot Luck Dinner Pot luck dinner in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Williams, 214 W. Broadway, was enjoyed by members of the Couplets club Friday. Devotions were led by Don Hein with the remainder of the evening devofed to a business discussion led by Bob Graham. Others attending were Mrs. Bob Graham, Ms. and Mrs. John Lawn. Pot luck dinner in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Williams, 214 W. Broadway, was enjoyed by members of the Couplets club Friday. Interesting Talk On Birds at Garden Club Meeting "Birds in Our Garden" was the interesting title taken by Vanche Plumb of Santa Ana when she addressed the Anaheim Garden club at a meeting yesterday. Also on the program was a film of rose culture, shown by Pat Burke. Mrs. O. W. Eager received the group in her N. Clementine st.; home with Mrs. F. E.-Charles, Mrs. Opal Kene and Mrs. H. B. Countess as co-hostesses. Guests at the meeting were Mrs. W. P. Webb and Mrs. William Houts. Mrs. W. R. Ward presided at the tea table. Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Etchandy, 9672 S. Webster ave., Anaheim, are parents of a daughter, born at Fullerton general hospital, March 20. Mrs. Clyde Howland, 10471 S. Stanton ave., is back at home and convalescent from a month's illness. FULLERTON HOME is planned by Mr. and Mrs. James Kenneth Sampson on return from honeymoon. They were married Sunday. Barbara Barfoot Bride of James Sampson In Afternoon Service at Zion Lutheran One of the prettiest weddings of this season was solemnized at Zion Lutheran church Sunday afternoon when Miss Barbara Lee Barfoot, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Barfoot of 211 E. Alberta st., became the bride of James Kenneth Sampson of Rolling Hills. For her wedding Miss Barfoot chose a ballerina length gown of white nylon net with inserts of delicate lace in the bouffant skirt. The use of lace was repeated in the peter pan collar and cuffs of the short sleeves. Her veil of filmy illusion net fell to elbow length and she carried a bouquet of white lilacs, tulips and orchids. She was given in marriage by her father. Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Mrs. James Curlette, who wore a gown of yellow taffeta with an overskirt of white net. Her bouquet was yellow tulips. Bridesmaids, Marion Robertson and Mrs. George Cunningham wore taffeta gowns in sea foam green with bouquets of yellow jonquils. Bill Lovelace of Davis, Calif., was best man and ushers were James Curlette and George Cunningham. Irene McCandless was organist. The Rev. L. E. Eifert of Laguna Sigma sorority. She will continue her studies there. The bridegroom was also graduated from Anaheim High school and attended Palos Verdes college. Capilla de San Antonio was the setting for the evening reception with more than 150 guests in attendance. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Barfoot wore a green suit with black and white accessories and Mrs. Sampson wore navy blue with matching accessories. Yellow jonquils were used in both corsages. Following a one week honeymoon trip they will make their home in Fullerton. The new Mrs. Sampson is a graduate of Anaheim High school and is attending Fullerton Junior college where she is vice-president of Associated Women Students and a member of KappaLambda. A St. Patrick's day motif was carried out in the decorations of a green and white parasol filled with gifts and presented to the bride-elect. Games were played during the evening and a buffet supper was served following the opening of gifts. Miss Hutain will leave for New Jersey on March 31 to marry Cpl. Leland P. Drown on April 7. Center st., was host to Mrs. Jerry Barnett of the Carmel Beauty Salon in Anaheim, who gave expert advice to the students on Square Dance at Sunny Hills Members and guests of the Centennial Square Dance club of Orange county paid tribute to St. Patrick with a full evening of fun and frolic on Friday night, March 16, at Sunny Hills. Leonard Jones of Long Beach did a fine job of calling, substituting for Jack Hutchins of Garden Grove, who was away due to the death of his mother. Among the many guests was Bob Beckett, caller, from San Dimas, who favored the crowd with a lively "tip." The club, meeting regularly on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month, is happy to announce a fifth Friday dance, March 30, at 8:30 p.m. Jack Hutchins will be back, supported by the music of Shirley and Her Beeman Brothers.
