Panel Discussion at Fremont P.T.A Meet, Mrs. Conan Gray Elected President Among the outstanding juvenile authorities who addressed a meeting of Fremont P.T.A this week were Dr. Dorothy Jordt, Y Secretary Nan Moore and Francis Addy of Juvenile Dept., in Santa Ana. The panel discussion opened with a message by Dr. Jordt in which she said, "Give your children love and let them know that they are loved. Use discipline but be sure it is not an adult tantrum. At junior high level boys and girls must have increased self confidence, they need to have further fields to conquer and are less rebellious if allowed to have a little more freedom. A child at this age needs recognition and security." Significant statements were given by Nan Moore who said, "In group work be sure the group the boy or girl belongs to, has status, 'Y' work meets the needs of the adolescent. Give them as much responsibility as they can carry." She added that personal counselling is a part of "Y" work. Mr. Addy attributed all delinquency to emotional maladjustment and said that punishment will not prevent crime. He concluded by stating that most delinquents are insecure and that delinquency would not occur if a child had at least one good adult friend. Highlighting the business meeting was a report by the nominating committee in which Mrs. Conan Gray was named president for the year, Mrs. S. L. Keith, vice-president; Mrs. Ted Dinkler, auditor; Mrs. George Kohlenberger, parliamentarian and Mrs. August Fitz, historian. Officers will be installed in May, Mrs. Minnie Stover. R. C. Rankin Wed At Parsonage Minnie Stover and R. C. Rankin were married quietly by Rev. Frank Butterworth at the White Temple parsonage yesterday. Present at the wedding were the two attendants only, the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Ambrose Gersch of Santa Monica and the bride's bother, C. L. Wicker of Anaheim and their families. Mrs. Rankin, 120 N. Clementine, has been employed in the office at Orange county hospital and before that, at Loretta's Dress Shop in Anaheim. For the wedding she chose a blond pearl suit, with a natural straw hat, trimmed in brown and brown lizard accessories. Her corsage was a pale gold orchid. The bridegroom is a resident of Silver City, New Mexico, where he and his brother, Noel Rankin, are in the cattle ranching business. The two have known each other since 1926, when they both lived in El Paso, Texas. The families on both sides have been friends for a great many years. A wedding supper was held following the ceremony at the Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica. The couple will stay there for the remainder of their honeymoon and will later leave for Silver City, New Mexico, to make their home. A. B.
