Honored in Japan HEADQUARTERS, 452nd BOMB WING—In a formal ceremony at this Japan base Staff Sergeant Leslie R. Adams was presented the sixth Oak Leaf cluster to the Air Medal by Brigadier General Luther W. Sweetser, Jr., commanding general of the 452nd Light Bomb Wing. Sergeant Adams, whose wife lives at 710½ W. Santa Ana st., is a combat gunner in one of the B-28s with which the wing makes daily strikes against the enemy in Korea. The citation accompanying the award read, in part, "For meritorious conduct while in armed aerial flight against the enemy when the appearance of enemy and joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 1949 at Long Beach. He was recalled to active duty with the 452nd Bomb Wing on August 7, 1950 and in November moved with the wing to its overseas base." Sergeant Adams, whose wife lives at 710½ W. Sergeant Adams first entered military service in 1944 at Los Angeles, was discharged in 1946 and joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 1949 at Long Beach. He was recalled to active duty with the 452nd Bomb Wing on August 7, 1950 and in November moved with the wing to its overseas base. The Kansas born airman graduated from Anaheim Union High school and attended Fullerton junior college. Sergeant and Mrs. Adams have a son, Rickle, age 2. Mrs. Cordella Green, 23-year old mother who is accused of murdering her three-months-old daughter was bound over to Superior court for trial. $567,000 was allotted for the rehabilitation of the Santa Ana Marine Helicopter Base. Thief Victimizes Anaheim Officer Police Officer Alvin E. Rogers, 1225 E. Oak st. Anaheim, was a victim of a petty theft Friday night. He had parked his car on Lemon it while he went to a movie and discovered when he started home that his spare tire, wheel and tube had been pilfered during his absence. Loot worth $105.50 was taken from a car belonging to Walter Francis Allers of Costa Mesa, while it was parked in Harmony park parking lot Saturday evening or early Sunday morning. The thief or thieves gained access to the car by breaking a windwing with a 7-Up bottle, causing damage assessed at $10. The booty included three women's purses, a coat and a child's pair of slacks. House leaders secretly hope this controversial matter won't be tossed into their lap. If the Senate must take a stand on the issue, they hope it will be in the form of a simple Senate resolution not requiring House action. But the House Republican Leadership group that body to have a voice in the debate, too. Beadles of Mayville, Kentucky, said 14,484 residents are using the library regularly. Bauer Graduated From Navy School Duane John Bauer, airmen apprentice, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. F. Bauer of 809 W. Broadway was recently graduated from the Aviation Machinist's Mate school at the U.S. Naval Air Technical Training Center, Memphis, Tenn. Bauer, who has since been transferred to the U.S. Naval Auxiliary Air Station at Miramar, entered the Naval service May 26, 1950, and received his recruit trailing at the U.S. Naval Training center, San Diego. Before entering the Navy, he was graduated from Anaheim Union High school. Denmark has been using a vaccine known as BCG against tuberculosis since the early 1930s.
