GIANT SLOTH Stanton Chamber To Ask Blanket Re-zoning in Area At a special meeting of the board of directors of the Stanton Chamber of Commerce, last week, the group went on record as favoring extended phone service and are notifying the Public Utilities Commission in Los Angeles to that effect. The building committee with Dale Walling as chairman, assisted by Martin Coolidge and R. Don Langmo will be accompanied by Mrs. Evelyn Struna and Anthony Parra, with Donald Davis as an alternate, and meet with the Orange County Planning Commission regarding a blanket variance for business zoning from Cerritos to north side of Katella and west side of Flower to Court st.; from Cerritos to south side of Ball rd., with a set back of 200 feet on either side of the State highway line. A stipulation will be made to zone all R4 to Ce and leave M1 alone, with all setbacks to be consistently uniform. Owners of property on the east side of Highway 39 whose property is being purchased by the state were present. Special guests were R. A. Brock, president, and Ross Wilson, vice-president of the new board of the Westminster Chamber of Commerce, who invited all members of the Stanton group to be their guests Feb. 1, 8 p.m., at an open meeting.
