Party for School Friends in Koontz Home Last Night Marilyn Koontz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Koontz, gave a Christmas party for her high school friends last night at her home at 10662 E. Broadway. Co-hostess, Juanita Soyland and Miss Koontz decorated the barn with a lighted tree and Christmas decorations to add a festive note to the games and dancing during the evening. Later in the evening ice cream and green and red decorated cakes were served the guests. Attending the Christmas holiday opener were Joyce Kiester, Carolyn Poyet, Rosemary Botts, Patricia Valusic, Gary Knox, Jerry Nielsen, Billy Dickenson, Gene Denney, Richard Acton, Fred Knox, Bob Birtcher, Duane Lindgren and the two hostesses. McCoy's Drugs For CANDY Open Sunday Annual Christmas Party Fetes Employees Of Savings Loan and Building Association The Savings, Loan and Building assn. had its annual Christmas party last night at the home of Robert Borden. All of the staff and their wives and husbands attended including Mr. William T. Wallop, president and Mrs. Walop, Mrs. Elmer E. Bruce, secretary and Mrs. Bruce. The party began with a buffet supper. Following supper, Christmas songs were joined in by all, followed by games and prizes. At the conclusion of the party Mr. Wallop presented all of the employees with a Christmas bonus check for one half month’s salary, proportioned on a service basis, upon which the association had absorbed all of the deductions so that the employee received the full amount of the bonus. The entire staff resolved that the coming year would again bring a new high in the 61 years of operation of the association. Zindas Host Holiday Party Santa Claus descended from a make believe chimney to distribute gifts at a party given recently by Mr. and Mrs. Al Zinda, at their home, 501 N. Vine st. A beautifully decorated Christmas tree centered the attractive room and arrangements of holly and poinsettias lent a holiday touch to the party. Enjoying the evening were Mr. and Mrs. E. Ostermire of Piperstone, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Swartz and children, Mel Jr., and Marilyn of Oxnard; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Swartz of Costa Mesa; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Swartz of Long Beach; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Castro and Bud of Capistrano, Miss Jean Ferns of Anaheim and the Zinda children Don Darlene and Dennis. Tuesday evening Mrs. Edwin C. Strong, 760 N. Clementine, and co-hostess, Mrs. Lloyd Wallace, entertained some of their friends from the AUHS class of '48. Card games were played and Christmas gifts exchanged. Coffee and a fluffy "Angel Delight" dessert were served. Guests included Mrs. Douglas French, Mrs. John Knight, Mrs. Stanley Loudon, Mrs. Dick Groff, Mrs. LeRoy Penhall, Miss Anita Robertson and the two hostesses, Mrs. Bud Strong and Mrs. Lloyd Wallace. Unable to attend were Miss Audrey Kruse and Mrs. David Deetz. Winning prizes were Mrs. Wallace, Mrs. Knight and Miss Robertson. MISS BETTY SAUNDERS Betty Saunders to Wed Bob Pecor Tiny pink Christmas bells on a decorated tree revealed the news this week of the engagement of Miss Betty Saunders, daughter Mrs. Myrta Saunders of E. Broadway, to Bob Pecor of Cypress. Announcement was made at a Christmas party where guests took the clever ornaments from the tree to find the inscription. Unable to attend were Captain Walter Larsen, Mrs. Henry Carlson of Los Angeles, Leonard Troeller, Rosa Togel, Francis White, Gwen and Roger Harlow, Mary Tippens, and Carl Pearson of Long Beach. The bride elect attended Anaheim High school and Fullerton junior college and is employed at Beth Barton ceramic studio. Her fiance attended Anaheim High school and graduated from Fullerton J. C. He is employed with an engineering firm in Monterey Park and will soon resume service in the Naval Reserve. Plans are made for a 1951 wedding date. Dinner Enjoyed by School Employees More than 50 members of California School Employees Association and their families gathered last night at Fremont cafeteria for a Christmas party and pot luck dinner. The meeting place was decorated in the Christmas theme with games and singing, under the direction of George Walters, occupying the evening. Dick Foster is president of the association. Children Entertain Parents at Franklin P-TA Meeting Wallace. Unable to attend were Miss Audrey Kruse and Mrs. David Deetz. Winning prizes were Mrs. Wallace, Mrs. Knight and Miss Robertson. YOUR CREDIT IS GOOD make her Big Children Entertain Parents at Franklin P-TA Meeting The beloved Christmas carol, Silent Night, played by Mrs. Joseph Weaver, welcomed guests recently to the Christmas meeting of Benjamin Franklin P-TA. Mrs. Arthur Korn conducted the meeting and introduced Mrs. Floyd Stockwell, character and spiritual education chairman who read the devotional, "Christmas Blessings." Mrs. Glenn Kirk, program chairman, introduced teachers: Miss Ann Clark, Miss Sarah Hull, Mrs. Frances Littrell, Miss Hazel Gibson and Mrs. Dorothy Cox whose students were featured on the program. Marilyn Yount announced the following songs "Kris Kringle," "Dancing Around the Christmas Tree," and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," by the afternoon kindergarten. Mrs. Littrell and Miss Hull's first grades gave a Christmas recitation with students taking part: Dorothy Escalante, Douglas Cook, Susan Barton, Darrel Coulter, Kathy Emerson, Bobby Henderson, Billy Baach, Sandra Bush and David Olson.
