KOREAN WAR Continued from Page 1 east flank brought determined punches against that section of the Allied line. A field dispatch said the reds may be trying to capture high ground looking down on Hungnam's busy port. Artillery fire smashed one such attack and killed an estimated 200 Korean reds in 20 minutes. Allied warships slipping through the Sea of Japan's icy waters off Hungnam port pounded 37 concentrations of Chinese and Korean communists. The big naval guns dispersed one column of attacking reds with heavy casualties. Mr. Norman Christopher, 2344 Cumberland, Houston, Texas, works for the Water Contract Division of the city of Houston, and he says the housetops aren't high enough nor the days long enough for him to praise HADACOL. He says since he has been taking HADACOL he feels mighty good. He found his system was deficient in Vitamins B1, B2, Niacin and Iron. Mr. Christopher says: "After I 5 • Anaheim Gazette TUESDAY, DECEMBER 19, 1956 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA AIRMEN POUND RED CONCENTRATIONS—While U.N. naval armada, including the U.S.S. Missouri, shelled Chinese communists on borders of U.N. beachhead (sawtooth line), Navy and Marine airmen pounded red troop concentrations within 60 mile radius (solid line with bomb blasts) of Hungnam. On the ground in beachhead perimeter, U.S. Third Division troops fought off a fanatical red attack.—(Associated Press Wirephoto Map.) Disaster Plans Continued from Page 1 the assigned tasks: LAW AND ORDER — Police Chief Mark A. Stephenson, protection of persons and property during disaster conditions. FIRE—Acting Fire Chief Ed Stringer, fire suppression and initiative in the event of explosion, which went into action immediately, got most of the situation under control and obviated much of the necessity for calling in much outside help. This, he said, is what disaster men have in mind for Anaheim. To the question, "What to do?" Murdoch pointed out two immediate courses. First, he said, the Mr. Christopher says: "After I got out of the Army I was underweight, nervous, couldn't sleep and had a terrible time getting food to agree with me. When I would wake up in the morning, I would always be sick at my stomach—I could never eat breakfast—imagine having to wait until noon before eating the first meal of the day. Even then just a few mouthfuls of food would fill me up. At night I couldn't sleep—I would just roll and toss all night. I felt miserable. Nothing seemed to help me until I started taking HADACOL. After the third bottle of HADACOL I could tell a difference in my eating and sleeping habits. Now after a year's time of taking HADACOL I have gained almost 20 pounds. I sleep well—and the most wonderful thing—I can enjoy 3 full meals a day. There is no way I can describe the tremendous improvement in my appetite. I have started my wife taking HADACOL and she, too, it feeling wonderful. If there is anybody who doubts my word about what I have said about HADACOL, they should have seen me before I started taking HADACOL. I sincerely recommend HADACOL to all my friends and urge them to take HADACOL." All Ages Can Be Helped HADACOL is simply remarkable, the way it has helped folks of all ages—yes, thousands of men, women and children who have deficiencies of Vitamins B1, B2, Niacin and Iron. HADACOL is that wonderful new preparation—promising blessed relief for stomach distress, nervousness, if caused by an upset stomach, nagging aches and pains, or a general run-down condition, when they are due to such deficiencies. Remember, HADACOL is not a quick-acting product that only attacks the symptoms of the mischiefs of the city of Houston, and he says the housetops aren't high enough nor the days long enough for him to praise HADACOL. RECRUITMENT — City Clerk Charles Griffith, direction of the recruitment of local persons for work on the various disaster relief agencies. Skeleton Form That's the way Murdoch outlined the plan for the region last night. He told his audience that such a system has existed in skeleton form more or less since World War II. He added that post war apathy and the desire to forget the just-passed conflict vitiated the organization considerably. At the present time, Murdoch indicated, facilities permit effective disaster relief for limited emergencies only. In other words, he said, nothing much beyond the average fire or police action. In the event of severe catastrophe, Anaheim would have to depend on outside help. In the event of an outside call for help, little which went into action immediately, got most of the situation under control and obviated much of the necessity for calling in much outside help. This, he said, is what disaster men have in mind for Anaheim. To the question, "What to do?" Murdoch pointed out two immediate courses. First, he said, the job is to drum up recruits for the disaster relief corps. Volunteers must be registered and enter into training. And secondly, detailed planning work must be commenced, so that every area will be prepared to aid itself effectively should disaster strike. An immediately upcoming move, Murdoch said, is the issuance to every home in Anaheim, of the government pamphlet "Survival Under Atomic Attack." Much publicized already, the booklet contains information on steps individuals should take in the event of an A-bomb strike. Pending arrival of sufficient number of booklets, Murdoch said, distribution to Anaheim residents will be completed as soon as possible. Following Murdoch's talk, a few Legionmen voiced their opinions on the matter of disaster relief plans. Hoag's Plan Tom Hoag told comrades that he has up for consideration a detailed plan for disaster relief facilities in Anaheim. He offered the plan to planners when they get down to the business of detailed planning. Major Charles Schmidt, pos-adjustant, voiced Legion desire to get the show on the road. "Since July," he said, "we have been beyond the limited emergency stage. We in the Legion have repeatedly asked the council what we could do in the way of preparing for a disaster. So far we've had no answer. Now maybe they will tell us what we can do." As of this moment," he continued, "we would be helpless in disaster struck tomorrow. I trust that soon we will be able to say 'If disaster strikes tomorrow,' we will be fully prepared." men, women and children who have deficiencies of Vitamins B1, E2, Niacin and Iron. Remember, HADACOL is not a quick-acting product that only attacks the symptoms of the miseries, but actually relieves the real cause of pains and aches due to such deficiencies. Yes, and continued use of HADACOL helps prevent the miseries from coming back. The council also agreed to set up a sort of high command—officially called a "defense production board"—to speed up and expand the manufacture of armaments. The program, adopted yesterday in defiance against threats from Russia that rearming Germany would violate existing treaties, calls for an international force of 55 to 60 divisions, plus air and sea arms. It aims at a total force 1,000,000 men by the end of 1953. LOS ANGELES (AP)—Sought for nine years on draft evasion charges, Robert C. The paper called on the Russian people to intensify their vigilance towards the aggressive powers especially towards all their international intrigues. The editorial was the first comprehensive Soviet comment on the presidential proclamation of last day. It was the third in a series of front page articles dealt with Mr. Truman's recent announcements. The first dealt with Nov. 30 press conference, in which he referred to the possibility of using the atom bomb against communist China. The second commented on the communique at the conference of the U.S. president and Britain's Prime Minister Atlee. Each of the articles has accused the president of being in a state "war hysteria." Pravda continued, "which have invaded Korea and are ruining the homes of Koreans, creating a threat to the security and national existence of the Korean people. "The affairs of the present (U. S.) rulers are bad," Pravda declared, "if they can carry through their policy only with the help of emergency measures." The paper said "everyone knows it is the Soviet Union which stood for and stands for strengthened peace in the whole world and for the decision of all international problems through normal talks between states." The Truman proclamation, Pravda said, is calculated to "still further kindle war hystoria and intensify preparations for a new war." It added concrete measures in connection with the proclamation come to one thing: "To subject the entire life of the country to forced preparation for aggressive war and for this to carry out militarization of the country."
