Always one of the most impressive evenings of the lodge year, Chispa chapter's installation of officers was outstanding this week for the dignity of the service.
A. Bird Cross was master of ceremonies with Esther Kemper as installing marshal; Vera Baum, installing chaplain; and Sue Brown, installing organist.
Conducting the rites were Vera Riner, past matron; Camille Deane, past matron; T. Earle Woodward, past patron, and Inez Clough, Deputy Grand Matron of the 99th district and past matron of Norwalk chapter.
Arline Mary Foster was seated as worthy matron; William Foster, worthy patron; Addie Belle Hunt, associate matron; C. Everett Granere, associate patron; Sallie Maude Adams, secretary; Mae Brown, treasurer; Dorothy Thiessen, conductress; Loretta Guinn, associate conductress; Ethel Cross, chaplain; Gladys Woodward, marshal, and Elnora Sanford, organist.
Also participating in the program were Billy Foster, Richard Foster, Marjorie Cranston, Dorothy Thiessen, Albert Cranston, Frank Lockhart, Agnes Scheffler, T. Earle Woodward, Elizabeth Seekins, Gladys Woodward and officers of the lodge.
The five rays of emblematic star are Adah, Eunice Schaeffler; Ruth, Frances Steurwald; Esther, Irene Gray, Martha, Victoria Hollingsworth; Electa, Mabel Abbott, and warder, Maude Sanderson, sentinel, Bird Cross.
Hostesses were Melissa Hauswald, Ethel Bruce, Maude Saenger, Eva Boyd, Myreta Organ, Pauline Houts, Hulda Graner and Celia McCarthy. Howard Schaeffler, Earl Baum, Herbert Deane and Charles Hunt were ushers.

20-30 Anns Enjoy Christmas Dinner In Long Beach
Preceding the regular December business meeting, Anaheim 20-30 Anns drove to Welsch's in Long Beach for their annual Christmas holiday dinner.
Election of officers highlighted the business meeting with Louise Ferguson named president for the coming year; Betty Bruce, vice president; and Marge Anton, secretary treasurer.
During the gift exchange secret pals were revealed. Next regular meeting will be held in the home of Ruth Stewart, Jan. 9.
Attending Tuesday evening were Dorothy Mittman, Marge King, Betty Bruce, Mrs. Jack Gledhill, advisor; Marge Anton, Dorothy Spencer, Ruth Stewart and Louise Ferguson. Special guests were Mrs. Etta Grace, Mrs. Mittman's mother; and Iona Truell, both of Santa Ana. Dorothy Mittman presided.
Splendid Program At Home Oil Co. Christmas Dinner
Members of Home Oil co., firm who always look forward to their annual Christmas party with expectation, were honored by the company at a delicious turkey dinner and program this week.
R. G. Grange, manager addressed the gathering and presented D. E. Davis with a 20 year pin. He also introduced Frank Fulenwider, Los Angeles district sales supervisor who spoke briefly.
Surprise of the evening was a performance by Mr. Irby, a magician, who delighted the audience with his program. Santa Claus distributed gifts and candy to the children.

Teachers Hold Holiday Dinner In Whittier
Elementary Teachers club of Anaheim held their annual Christmas dinner last Tuesday at Carey's in Whittier. Eighty-seven members and guests attended the holiday reunion.
Mrs. Dorothy Link, president introduced the guests and superintendent of schools, M. A. Gauer, who led carols in a community sing. Miss Emily Axtell accompanied at the piano.
Highlight of the evening came when Ted Bourne, music instructor at Fremont, disguised as Santa Claus, distributed gifts to all present.
Christmas theme was in evidence in decorations. Centering each table were arrangements of candles and poinsettias. Each school represented accounted for a centerpiece.
Mrs. Virginia Palmeri was social chairman for the affair.
Christmas Wish Is Small for Soldier,
'Please Write to Me'
Sergeant Richard R. Meeker, stationed in Japan, wrote an early letter to Santa Claus this year.
"Please ask my school friends to write to me," he asked. According to the sergeant things aren't too pleasant in the far off country where he will spend Christmas,and letters from his former friends would do a great deal of good toward making the situation brighter.

Girl Scouts Hold Holiday Meeting
The Anaheim Girl Scout organization, one of the Community Chest agencies, held a Scribes' Tea last week at the Girl Scout Little House at 201 S. Citron. Attending were Brownie and Scout scribes with mothers or leaders. The tea table was attractively decorated in the Christmas motif by the girls of Senior Scout Troop No. 8. The refreshments were served by Senior Scouts Shirley Schmitz and Peggy Sterba. After refreshments and a discussion of Scouting and public relations, Peggy Sterba led the guests in Christmas caroling and Scouting songs. Relative to the journalistic meeting, Miss Olga Skeehan, executive director for Anaheim Girl Scouts, announced that the "American Girl" magazine would accept manuscripts for publication from Scouts after January 1.
Brenda Barnett, scribe for Girl Scout Troop No. 37 of Benjamin Franklin school, reports the gala party at last troop meeting of 1950. These sixth grade Scouts sang traditional Christmas carols and enjoyed playing different games. Presented to each girl was a Girl Scout diary; a gift from the troop's leader, Mrs. H. Schafer, and her co-leaders, Mrs. F. Simonton, Mrs. R. Cheatum, and Mrs. W. Barnett. Enjoying the ice cream, Christmas cookies, pop corn and candy canes with the Scouts and their leaders, was Mrs. Harold Fisher.

Prominent Orange County Couple United In Candlelight Services at Alamitos Church
In candlelight services, Friday evening at 8 o'clock, Misss Linda K. Russell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Russell, 9061 Bestal Ave., Garden Grove, was united in marriage with James Haselton, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Haselton of 7901 13th st., Westminster.
Rev. T. Eugene Coffin officiated at the double ring rites in the Alamitos Friends church before an altar banked in ivy and white chrysanthemums. Mrs. Jean Coffin accompanied a friend of the Russells, Floyd Holler, on the organ as he sang "Because" and "Oh Promise Me."
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in a white figured taffetta in princess style, with a net yolk. A heart shaped halo of Alen'con lace held her fingertip veil and she carried a white Bible on which was placed a white orchid with streamers of intertwined satin and baby carnations.

Auxiliary Lists Holiday Events
Final plans for the VFW auxiliary and post dinner party were made at a regular business meeting of the VFW auxiliary Monday at 8 p.m. Christmas dinner will include turkey as entree with the rest potluck. Table service will be furnished by the individual. This affair will be Dec. 16, at the VFW hall. Irene Fitchman will be acting chairman of the Christmas party committee.
Long Beach Veteran's hospital will be the recipient of a visit from the Anaheim VFW auxiliary Dec. 19 where the post and auxiliary will sponsor a visit from Santa Claus and refreshments during the afternoon. Santa Claus will go feminine as bewhiskered and red clothed Adelaine Schroeder chuckles into her bag and brings forth a gift for each of the patients. Cake and coffee will be served later. Mary Hund will act as hospital committee chairman.

A heart shaped halo of Alen'con lace held her fingertip veil and she carried a white Bible on which was placed a white orchid with streamers of intertwined satin and baby carnations.
Matron of honor, Mrs. Robert Cornelison of Buena Park, wore a full length gown, white taffeta with silver flowers, finished at the low shoulderline with a net draped collar. She carried a Bible with a lavender orchid.
The bridegroom was attended by Arnold Gasser of Westminster. Sharon Landeau of Westminster was flower girl in a floor length lavender taffeta frock, carrying a white net basket of daisies.
A reception followed at the church. Mrs. Russell, the bride's mother, received the 150 guests. She wore a black draped crepe print, figured in yellow and white, with a black maline hat and a yellow shoulder corsage of tiny chrysanthemums.
The bride's mother, Mrs. Haselton, wore a turquoise wool suit, a gardenia corsage and black accessories. Among the out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Don Shaw of Sherman Oaks.
The bride attended school in Westminster and will graduate from Huntington Beach High school next spring. She is prominent as one of California's best equestriennes, having been awarded both junior and senior championships for Orange county, she went on to claim the state blue ribbon horseshow regional championship in Santa Rosa in 1948 and in Sacramento in 1949. She is equally good in English and Western style.
The bridegroom attended high school in Michigan and has been working as the head of display and window dressing at the Long Beach Sears store. He has just taken his exam for the army and hopes to be part of the Air Force ground crew quite soon.
The newlyweds are at home at 8152 West 20th st., Westminster.

Reports on the VFW auxiliary bazaar was given by bazaar chairman Dorothy Mallonee amid smiles of approval. Report was also given on the card party for the Cancer Research Fund by chairman Ida Trendle.

Secret Sisters Revealed at Sorority Party
Anaheim Tau Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met at the home of Mrs. H. M. Peterson Monday evening for the annual Christmas party. The Peterson home was beautifully decorated in the holiday motif with a lighted Christmas tree the center of attraction under which each member placed her "secret sister" Christmas present.
Following a short business meeting, president Eloise Smith presiding, the fast moving game of whooppee was enjoyed. Highlight of the evening was the exchange of gifts in which the name of the member's secret sister for the past year was revealed. Later in the evening the hostess, Mrs. Peterson, served tasty refreshments.
Members present were Mrs. Peterson, sponsor, Mrs. Ann Krogen, honorary member, Dorothea Schutz, Helen Cohn, Kaye Fancher, Gladys Malmrose, Beulah Hineman, Eloise Smith, Marjorie Pibel, Dorothy Gerlich, Audrey Vail, Lois Spratt, Alice Myers, Josephine Chance, Louise Miller, Kay Deitmeier, and Helen Sharp.

Evening services at Capitol San Antonio this week Miss Lois Richey of Santa Clause and Ralph Downs of Fullbright both well known in the Anaconda area where they are employed.
The bride chose for her wedding a smartly tailored grey suit pink accessories and an corsage. Her only attendee Mrs. Vernon Norwood of Anaheim Norwood was best following the ceremony bridal party enjoyed a fine wedding supper in Garden City.
The bride is an accountant is formerly from the East Side Her husband, who served for many years.

Evening services at Capilla de Antonio this week united Lois Richey of Santa Ana years as a flyer in the army, is now an independent milk producer in this area. They will reside presentation which is scheduled for tomorrow morning at the school auditorium at 10:30. Refreshments will be served from 10 a.m. by the PTA.

Evening services at Capilla de San Antonio this week united Lois Richey of Santa Ana and Ralph Downs of Fullerton, well known in the Anaheim where they are employed.
The bride chose for her wedding smartly tailored grey suit with pink accessories and an orchid gage. Her only attendant was Vernon Norwood of Anaheim. Vernon Norwood was best man following the ceremony the final party enjoyed a festive dining supper in Garden Grove. The bride is an accountant and formerly from the East coast husband, who served for eight years as a flyer in the army, is now an independent milk producer in this area. They will reside at 1412 W. Amerige ave. in Fullerton following a Palm Springs honeymoon.
George Washington Christmas Program Tomorrow Morning
With a cast of two hundred and forty children, George Washington school Christmas program promises to be a spectacular event.
All grades, including the kindergarten, will appear in the presentation which is scheduled for tomorrow morning at the school auditorium at 10:30. Freshments will be served from 10 a.m. by the PTA.
Greetings by the school principal will open the program and will be followed by rhythm numbers from the Kindergarten group. First grade will present choral speaking; second grade, a play, "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer;" third grade, verse choir; fourth grade, Christmas poems, and fifth and sixth grades, a play, "On Christmas Eve," with choral accompaniment.
Fifth grade mothers will hostesses for the morning.
