Losers Fete Winners in Grace Lutheran Missionary Society Christmas Luncheon
During the past year ladies of the Women's Missionary Christmas Society have been divided into two teams in competition on a reading program of Christian and Missionary literature.

Mrs. Santa Claus will be an important figure in the forthcoming YLI Christmas party, when she distributes gifts among the members, according to plans formulated at a meeting of the group this week.
Franklin P-TA Plans Christmas General Meeting
At the executive board meeting of Benjamin Franklin P-TA plan were completed for the general meeting Dec. 13 to be held at the school auditorium. Mrs. Arthur Korn announced that pre-school age children will be cared for by the Girl Scouts at the next regular meeting.

During the afternoon gifts were collected to be sent to the children of the church's Negro mission in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Offering taken was for use by the local Sunday school.
Janet Schacht presented a reading during the program which was under the direction of Mrs. Herb Heinze. Devotions were read by Mrs. H. F. Stief. In charge of the tamale pie lunchcon was Mrs. C. Benzel.
Group Meets to Plan Hanson Manor Improvements
The parents of the Hanson Busy Beavers teen age club have organized a group to meet bi-weekly and discuss matters pertinent to Hanson Manor, met Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wires, Sr., 7172 Thornton ave.
Officers elected recently are Oran G. Edwards, chairman; Mrs. Louise Tedrow, secretary and Ernest Hood, treasurer.
P. D. Crawford of 7141 Thornton who left Wednesday night for the Marshall Islands, via Pan American, where he will work on the atom bomb project as a carpenter for six months, was presented with a beautiful cigaret lighter attached to a lasso swung around his neck for safe keeping. He has complained he can not keep a lighter.
It was decided to purchase trees for the individual property owners to plant on the parking.
Special guests were Brent Wahlgren and Paul Pletz, neighborhood ranchers, who offered to help condition a plot of ground for a clubhouse, ball diamond and recreational facilities. The property is being loaned by the Union Development office of Perimeter.
YLI to Distribute Christmas Gifts To Needy Families

Date for the festive evening is Dec. 18 with Jean Lande as program chairman. All members are requested to bring a gift.
Gertrude Carter, in charge of the dance Saturday evening, reported that the event was very successful.
Announcements were made of the bridge-tripoli-canasta party at Capilla de San Antoni Dec. 13; distribution of Christmas baskets to the needy under the direction of Gertrude Carter and quarterly Communion at 7 a.m. mass, Dec. 24.
Father David Coleman, chapain, spoke on prayer, explaining the different types, their meanings and purpose.
Christmas theme was carried out in decorating tables for the social hour with an arrangement of Christmas tree balls, berries and candles as centerpiece on the table. Monica Hatfield and Genevieve Dominguez were in charge of the refreshments.
District council meeting was held at Capilla de San Antonio with Agnes Zinda presiding as district deputy. Plans were made for the district conference to be held in Long Beach in February. Delegations from Orange, Pomona and Anaheim attended.
A delightful tea this week honored members of Whittier Department of Women Students Association following their appearance in an assembly for the Anaheim High school Girls League.
Christmas decorations lent a festive touch to the party with marshmallow snow men and cookies served as refreshments.
Altar Society of St. Boniface church will sponsor a food sale after all masses December 10. It will be held in St. Boniface Hall with Mrs. John Kirsch and Mrs. John Larson.
Plans Christmas General Meeting

According to Mrs. Glen Kiener program chairman, students from Mrs. Anna Clark’s kindergarten Mrs. Sarah Hull’s first grade; Mrs. F. Littrells, and Miss Hazel Gibson’s second grade, and Ms. Dorothy Cox’ second grade will appear in the Christmas program Bazaar will be held at the close of the meeting.
Miss Olson, fourth grade teacher, was awarded the membership treat for the largest percentage new members joining the P-TA Announcement was made of P-TA information course to be held in January with Mrs. Caroline Gay as instructor.

Election of officers and plans for the annual meeting of the Anaheim Council of Churchwomen were formulated this week when the executive board met at the home of Mrs. C. I. Andrew president, on E. Broadway.

Named Head of St. Michael’s Group
In an all day meeting yesterday, women of St. Michael’s auxiliary named Eva Boyd to head the organization during the coming year. Working with her as vice-president will be Mrs. R. A. Patrick; secretary, Winifred Melrose; treasurer, Mrs. A. B. Hasty, and United Thank Offering treasurer, Mrs. Harriet Ames.
On display at the meeting were Christmas articles prepared by members during the summer months. These will be taken to Orange County hospital and Seaman’s Institute at Long Beach for distribution.
Study hour was conducted by Mrs. Patrick. Pot luck luncheon arrangements were handled by Mrs. J. L. Vanderveer, hostess for the afternoon.
Plan Annual Red Cross Meeting
Plans for the annual meeting and dinner to be held in January were formulated by the members of the board of Anaheim Red Cross chapter when the group met in regular session Wednesday evening.
Beta Sigma Phi Tri-City Council Meets in Orange
Tri-City Council of Beta Sigma Phi sorority met December 4, at the home of Mildred Field, 250 N. Pine st., Orange. Miss Betty Berkey, council president, presided at the business meeting.
The council is composed of the officers and delegates of the three Orange county chapters, Anaheim, Tau; Fullerton, Phi; Santa Ana, Sigma and Alpha Sigma Phi.
During the business meeting the group exchanged ideas for Christmas welfare, programs for the coming year and other ways to interest the chapters in a social way. The following members attended from Anaheim: Kay Deitmeier, Helen Sharp and Beulah Hineman.
Next meeting will be held January 3, 1951, at the home of Eunice McKenna, 308 N. Parton, Santa Ana.
Plan Annual Red Cross Meeting
Plans for the annual meeting and dinner to be held in January were formulated by the members of the board of Anaheim Red Cross chapter when the group met in regular session Wednesday evening.
Mrs. E. H. Kersten, chapter chairman, appointed Mrs. Leo J. Friis, L. M. Pickel, Mrs. Emory Simon and Mrs. P. H. Nelson on the nominating committee to select officers and Board members to serve during the coming year.
Mrs. Kersten also announced appointment of Miss Freda Janss as vice-chairman of volunteer services. She will have charge of the hospital work of the chapter. Appointment of Clyde Nickle as Fund Drive chairman for 1951 was ratified by the board.
Mrs. Robert P. Clark, production chairman, reported that the emergency quota of 200 kit bags for servicemen had been completed. Several organizations, including the Women's Relief Corps and a group from the Stanton district, had made this possible. One member of the WRC made 40 bags. The other production work is well under way, and will be stepped up beginning Jan. 1.
For First Aid, Hubert Ladig, chairman, reported that two classes are in session, and the Instructor's certificate of Sam Keith of the high school faculty has been renewed. One Home Nursing instructor's certificate has been issued to Mrs. M. S. Burton of Los Alamitos.
Mrs. Ben Kaulbars reported that the visit of the blood mobile on Nov. 17 was most successful with 133 donors charted.
Home service was reported that 43 cases were open during the month, of which eight were new and two reopened. Service was given in 17 cases, 14 being active service personnel and three veterans. There were 40 office callers and nine home calls were made. Layettes were supplied for twins born to a Navy man and his wife while they were visiting relatives here.
Two gifts were announced. Mrs. Anna Camp and her sister gave the Chapter $40 as a memorial to meier, Helen Sharp and Beulah Hineman.

Eugene Carroll, son of Mrs. Merle Carroll of Resh st., is home on Navy for ten days. He was sta at Bremerton, Wash., but assume duties at San Diego. Roll graduated from AUHS the class of '48 and has been Navy for two years.
Two gifts were announced. Mrs. Anna Camp and her sister gave the Chapter $40 as a memorial to their friend, the late Mrs. Kate Spottswood, and the Kwikset company sent checks amounting to $105 for California Flood relief sufferers.
L. M. Pickel, disaster chairman, announced a disaster meeting to be held in Santa Ana on Dec. 11, to which all interested are invited.
Ernie Heunemeyer, high school student, who had attended the National Junior Red Cross convention as a delegate from the four Orange county chapters, reported on his impressions of the convention.
Mrs. Warren Schutz and Mrs. Eldon Hauck were elected Wednesday morning to the nominating committee to represent the Horace Mann P-TA board. Two more will be elected at the December general meeting of the association.
Horace Mann teachers will give a party for the students this year. No definite date has been set. Plans were also made for a potluck dinner and meeting in January.
The Holy Name society will meet in a body at the 7 o'clock mass Sunday morning at St. Boniface church.
