Florence Circle Hostess to WSCS General Meeting White Temple Women's Society of Christian service met recently in the social hall of the church with the Florence circle as hostess and 75 members and guests in attendance. Special guests at the meeting were the Winterburgh Society and Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Silverthorne of Gardena. A cake commemorating the 10th birthday of the WSCS was presented by the Winterburg society to the local group. Symbolizing the fact that Anaheim WSCS has achieved all of it's 10 points, it received the honor of being able to light all 10 candles. Mrs. Wilbert Bonney, local president, presented a life membership pin to Mrs. C. C. Cleveland. Dr. Silverthorne was introduced on the afternoon program by Mrs. Ralph Focht, program chairman. He and Mrs. Silverthorne gave an interesting discussion on their work at the Spanish American Institute who showed poems, written and published by them and many useful articles made by "sons" in the home. The WSCS gave a food, clothing and miscellaneous shower for the Institute with many useful gifts donated by members. Mrs. J. S. Kerr closed the meeting with devotions. Stanton Items Miss Janice Pullman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald K. Pullman, 10881 Magnolia, is again in the limelight and the area is very proud of her. She is one of five majorettes from the Anaheim Union High school who have been invited to participate in the Santa Claus Lane Parade in Hollywood, at 7:30 p.m. tonight. The girls will strut up Hollywiod blvd., in blue velvet with ermine, small fur hats to match and white boots, to the music of the school band playing "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth." The Parade hits TV channel 5 at 7:30 tonight. Mrs. B. J. Niles, 8041 Starr st., took second place robbing the piggy bank on the Ladies' Day program on KFI television channel for shaking out six pennies. She received an assortment of cheese and several other awards including a piggy bank to practice on. Mr. Niles is very unhappy. Had she shaken out just one more penny she would have received a pair of tickets for a football game. She received a corsage in the grandmother's parade but couldn't win again because she has only two grandchildren. The winner had 22. Grandson of Local Woman Engaged Mr. and Mrs. Monte M. Beaman of 107 via San Remo, Lido Isle, announced the engagement of their daughter Thea Lee Beaman to Howard H. Henning, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Henning or Santa Ana Canyon at a dinner party given at their home recently. Traditional passing of the chocolates revealed the news. The bride elect graduated from Benjamin Franklin High school in Los Angeles and is attending Orange Coast college where she is president of the Associated Women students. Her fiance, attended Placentia schools and graduated from Orange Coast college in 1950. He will enter UCLA in February. His grandmother is Mrs. O. Henning of Anaheim-Olive rd., and is a pioneer Orange county resident. No definite date has been set for the wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Henning entertained at their Santa Ana Canyon home with Mr. and Mrs. Monte Beaman, Mr. and Mrs. James Hayes, Mr. and Mrs. James Hayes, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. John Trekell and son Bobby as guests. Social dance class, usually held every Thursday at Fremont gym under direction of Don Derr, has been cancelled for this week due to the holiday. Class will resume the following Thursday. Mary Magdalena Leib-John Albert Prescott Marry in Santa Ana The lovely chapel of St Anne's convent in Santa Ana was the setting Saturday morning for the marriage of Miss Mary Magdalena Lieb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Lieb of 207 N. Claudina st., to John Albert Prescott, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Prescott of Tustin. Father C. J. Bradley officiated at the double ring ceremony and nuptial mass. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an exquisite gown in traditional ivory satin with long sleeves tapered to the wrist and the full skirt ending in a long sweeping train. A silk illusion veil edged in wide chantilly lace was held to her hair by a matching lace tiara and she carried a bouquet of white orchids and stephanotis. Matron of honor was the bride's sister Mrs. Clark Gubo of Los Angeles who wore a dress of iliac satin with a matching lace bonnet. She carried lilacs and carnations with a matching spray caught to her headdress. Charles Borchard was bestman. Usher were Joe Lieb, Jr., and Paul D. Lieb, brothers of the bride. Reception was held for members of the immediate family at the spacious Prescott ranch home in Tustin. The bride is a graduate of Anaheim high school and Fullerton junior college and San Jose State college where she obtained her Ikettes Elect Officers for Active Second Year Local Ikettes elected officers for the coming year last night at a regular meeting at the home of Mrs. Dick Martin, Mrs. Marion Wick was elected president; first vice-president is Dorothy Wingert; second vice-president, June Daly; secretary, Beverly Wick; treasurer, Henrietta Furr; delegate-at-large, Ann O'Kane; sergeant-at-arms, Alice Pannier, and director, Irene Martin. Installation will be held December 18 at the chapter Christmas party. Other business included a report given by the delegate-at-large about the Orange County Ikette Council meeting. Lois Rebekahs To Initiate Candidates Lois Rebekah lodge held its regular meeting Friday in the IOOF hall, 325 W. Center st., with Susan Benbrook, noble grand, presiding. Eva Lee, district deputy president, made a social visit to the order. Announcement was made of initiation of candidates to be held at the next regular meeting with election of officers slated for Dec. 1. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Jennings were accepted into the lodge as transfers and were introduced and welcomed. Ora Horn is chairman of the forthcoming Mother and Daughter banquet and is in charge of ticket sales. Guests from Fullerton and Santa Ana were present.
