Plans were formulated for the annual Christmas party, Thursday, Dec. 14, in the McBratney music studio, 7861 First st. After a musical program, Santa Claus will give out gifts. Members enjoying fruit salad, sandwiches and coffee were the president, Mrs. Milton Hasell, and Mmes. Ruth Bennett, Richard S. Yater, William Thompson, Bertha Maloney. Charles Freeborn and Elijah Briggs from Stanton and Mrs. Sada Larson from Los Alamitos. Mrs. Frank W. Bokelman, 10132 S. Magnolia ave., was introduced as a new member. The next monthly pot luck dinner for the husbands and friends will be served in the club house, 8202 Starr st., Saturday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. A Thanksgiving party, turkey will be furnished by the club with Mmes. Helena st., are parents of Self-Service Gas Stations Boom LOS ANGELES (P)—Self-service stations in the west are selling about 23,000,000 gallons of gasoline a month, the American Petroleum Institute was told last day. B. E. Dovere of the Pathfinder Petroleum Co., said there are about 375 of these stations, approximately 85 per cent of them in California and the remain in Arizona, Nevada, and Washington. He told the institute's division of marketing that Oregon has vented establishment of such stations by legislation. In addition Devere said, there are some 375 these stations scattered in parts of the nation. Devere said that although they are not many of these stations numerically, "the impact of business which they are doing such that all marketers have consider seriously their future effect on new station installation."
