Colonist Band Guest of Bruins This Saturday
Next Saturday, the Colonist band, directed by Bill Cook, will unite with Long Beach Poly, Long Beach Wilson, Riverside, Monrovia, Pasadena, Alhambra, Santa Ana and the UCLA Bruin band in pregame and halftime activities at the UCLA-Oregon State football game in the Coliseum.
The bands will be guests of the university for lunch and the game.
The 600 high school bandsmen and the 120 piece Bruin band will make a colorful sight. Also accompanying the Anaheim band will be drum majorette Jo An Burdick, majorettes Helen Wier, Joann Faust. Mary Lou Gastelum and Jan Pullman.
Members of the Colonist band this year are Ron Faulkner, captain; Ken Gross, John Wimber, Ollie Newton, sergeants; Richard Reed, librarian; Nancy Rail, secretary.

Southern County Bank Designates Vice-President
The Southern County Bank of Anaheim through its president R. Foster Lamm, today announced the election of B. W. Jordan as vice-president and manager of their head office. He will assume its duties today.
The newly-elected vice-president has a background of over 20 years in banking. He started with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in 1929 as a clerk. In 1936 he went to the Columbia National Bank of Kansas City and in 1941 moved to Los Angeles and joined the staff of one of the largest Pacific Coast banks, where he has served in various executive and loaning capacities.
Mr. Jordan has been active in civic affairs, banking organizations and youth activities in the Santa Monica and Los Angeles areas.
