Spotlighted in Burkman's travelogue is the natural color film "The Gold Country", scenes of which included Death Valley, Mt Whitney, High Sierra, Virginia City, Lake Tahoe, Feather River, Mother Lode Ghost Town, and Villages of California.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON FEATURE—Bozo, the original Capitol Record Clown will be in person at the Fair in La Palma Park, Sunday afternoon, October 29. Bozo and Baton Music have come up with an idea which should delight all youngsters in Orange county. Besides doing his regular act for the youngsters, Bozo will pass out to the first 500 children attending the Fair Sunday afternoon, masks of his big red nose face. Each mask will be numbered and corresponding number will be drawn by Bozo and six lucky children will receive an album of his records:

14,100,000 in State by 1960 Says Professor
RICHARDSON SPRINGS—California's population is expected to reach 14,100,000 by 1960, but the rate of growth will vary widely in different counties. It was predicted here by Professor William A. Spurr of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Dr. Spurr, professor of business statistics, spoke before the annual conference of the California County Planning Commissioners association.
Biggest gains he said will occur in the counties adjoining Los Angeles and San Francisco counties, as well as in coastal resort areas such as San Diego and Monterey counties. The big cities themselves, however, will taper off.
The Central Valley area should also continue to forge ahead in population, the Stanford scholar stated. Little growth is expected, however, in the mountain and desert areas along the eastern side of the state.
Dr. Spurr expressed the opinion that the 52 per cent growth in California's population between 1940 and 1950 was not due merely to the war boom, but was nearly typical of the long-term growth of the state, which has averaged 45 per cent per decade over the past 90 years.
He estimates that the gain between 1950 and 1960 will be 35 per cent, placing California close behind New York State in population.
He predicted Orange county would show a gain of 44 per cent population in the next 10 years, increasing from its present 214,061 to 238,000 in April 1960.

Cox Warns of House-Building Cuthacks Imposed by Credit Controls
Credit controls that are already cutting into home building because of more stringent down payment requirements, may also soon determine the type of homes to be offered in the future, Henry C. Cox, Orange county builder revealed today.
Because of the higher down payment, builders may soon be forced to offer smaller, less luxurious homes to veterans in an effort to make them meet present market conditions, the builder estimated.
“This might mean”, Cox pointed out, “That less desirable property would be used, corners would be cut in construction and design, and that many of the modern features now offered would be left out.”
Cox, currently building three-bedroom Lifetime Homes in Anaheim and Fullerton where they are being sold to veterans without a down payment, was quick to assure that the large rooms, two-car garages, choice locations, modern kitchens and baths, and features like garbage disposals would be impossible to offer under the new controls.
“We feel certain”, Cox stated, “when these no-down-payment homes are sold in Anaheim and Fullerton, that it will be some time before we can offer such quality and comfort to veterans at a 'popular price'.”
The Lifetime Homes were under construction before new credit controls and therefore are still available to veterans on the old terms and on a up-down-payment basis.
Death March
(Continued From Page One)
Americans told of bulldies being "beaten and murdered" on a torture march from Seoul.
The three American survivors of the death march were:
Air Force Capt. William Locke, Enfield Ga., an F-51 pilot whose wife Renda and nine-month-old daughter Harpa were at Yokuda Air Base in Japan when he crashed in North Korean territory near Waegwang August 17.
Army Lt. Alexander Makaroumlis, 27, Lowell, Mass., captured near Hadong July 27.
Army Sgt. Takeshi Kumdai or Honolulu, captured July 20 when the red took Kaesong.
The trio said the red Koreans told them they were being moved from Seoul to Pyongyang for "safety."
Captain Locke said no pleaded with North Korean officials not to move the men and to give medical attention to the wounded.
The airman said the North Koreaans replied:
"We already got enough atrocities listed against us so a few more won't make any difference."
Korean War
(Continued From Page 1)
followed by an extensive mopping up campaign which will continue until all evidence of resistance is gone.
American troops will remain in Korea until that time. But apparently neither they nor British Commonwealth soldiers will go that far.
The red capital was practically secure. U. S. First Cavalry Division troopers and South Koreans had only a mopping-up job in the bomb-blackened city of 700,000.
McArthur has indicated he will keep these troops short of the politically explosive Manchurian and Siberian boundaries.
South Korean forces will operate there, he has indicated, wherever resistance may crop up.

French Nix

who are pioneering the French in Indo-China.
If it is found that foreign troops have joined Ho's forces, the premier said France will have to look for further support from her allies. This was interpreted as a threat to call for United Nations aid.
Pleven declared that the Chinese have sent a military mission to the Vietnam and have given some 20,000 Nationalists advanced military training within Red China.
The premier hinted that the French may pull out of the jungle-mountain border country and concentrate their forces along the red river Delta surrounding Vietnam.
What we must do now," he announced, "is to give up our insistence on remaining wedded at any cost, to those artificial lines called frontiers. We must fight on a terrain that allows our troops to take fullest advantage of their maneuverability, heavy weapons and air support."
