With five games away from home and four more here in Anaheim, the AUHS instrumental department is hard at work preparing for a busy season, instrumental director Bill Cook indicated this morning.
At present the Colonist Band numbers 68 musicians together with five majorettes. Jo An Burdick is drum majorette this year. Majorettes include Helen Weir, Joann Faust, Mary Lou Gastellum and Jan Pullman. Alice Weaver is the Colonist flag bearer.
Band officers this year are Ron Faulkner, captain; John Wimber, Ollie Newton and Ken Gross, sergeants; Richard Reed, librarian; and Yukio Tanaka, Doug Rapp and Larry Burns, privates-first-class.
Among the parades on the Colonist list this year are the Anaheim Hallowe'en festival parade, the Fullerton Fall festival parade October 5, and, by special invitation, the Santa Claus Lane parade on Hollywood blvd., November 22.
