Officials at the Detroit-Cleveland baseball game ordered lights turned on which are normally used only at night.—(AP WIREPHOTO.) CLEVER CENTERPIECE—Three little dolls dressed identically to the bride and her attendants at the recent marriage of Lucy Idso Kruse formed an unusual centerpiece at a shower for the bride last Friday. Admiring the crystal pieces are, left to right: Lois Baert, Audrey Kruse, Mrs. Bill Kruse and Mrs. Kenneth Hatten. All White Wedding For Jeanette Allen-Charles Stockon The Stanton Community church was the setting, at six o'clock, Thursday evening, for the marriage of Miss Jeanette Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Allen. 10672 S. Chestnut st., to Charles Le Roy Stockon, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Stockon of 323 14th st., Seal Beach. Rev. Charles White performed the candlelight ceremony in the presence of 125 relatives and friends. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore ivory slipper satin in a shirtmaker style gown, with a small collar on the high neck and small covered buttons to the waistline. The long sleeves were pointed at the wrists and the full skirt, with two one inch satin bows spaced equally in the back, ended in a saucer train. Her fingertip veil, belonged to Mrs. Jerry Taylor, and was of silk net held by a Juliet cap made of half inch bands of interwoven satin trimmed with simulated pearls. Her only jewelry was pearl earrings. She carried a shower arrangement of a Fluer-d-amour and three white orchids on a prayer book. In traditional fashion she completed her ensemble with a blue garter and had a penny in one of her white kid slippers which she had worn before. Mrs. Robert Carpenter of Escondido, formerly Maurine Smock, a niece of the bride was the matron of honor and Miss Doris Grivey, 10509 E. Cerritos ave., was the bridesmaid. They wore identical strapless gowns with full skirts of lime green shadow organandy with white figures. Halos and matching shoulder capes fastened at the neckline were set off by lavender ochids on prayer books. They also wore pearl earrings and white slippers. Charles Johnson of Buena Park was groomsman and the ushers were Frank Upham of Westminster and Russell Weber of Seal Beach. Miss Ethel Dill and Ted Guinn sang. (Continued on Page 8) Quick Action Always Use Q CHEERS FOR THE GENERAL whenever Major-General Dunlop, G. O. C. Singapore District, paused in his speech he was to give. Major-General Dunlop became ill and was unable to attend. Brigadier Harry Sparks took his place. Brigadier Sparks told the children, who did not understand English, "I am very sorry to tell you that the General is sick." He paused. "Hurray," the children shouted, sold their Chinese pupils to cheeraving their paper Union Jacks. The Brigadier continued: "As a matter of fact, General Dunlop is very sick today." Another pause. "Hurray," the children yelled again. "A classic example of misunderstanding," said Major-General Dunlop when told about it later. LEGAL NOTICES (Pub.
