Or, the whole project can be dropped and the status quo prevail. That is the tough one which has to be settled. But, such issues can be resolved. For example, there was considerable protest by residents on the blocks behind S. Los Angeles st., where residential areas were tentatively zoned for "parking lots." These lots would service businesses on S. Los Angeles. Apparently that one has been reconciled by revisions in the zoning plan which would not alter the residential area zoning and would require that the parking lots be included in the area zoned for businesses. That may be a small point. But it does represent part of the "hasse" about zoning. And, shows it can be worked out. How about traffic? Light industries would have workers driving their cars to and from work, suppliers would truck in materials, finished products would move out, etc. Not too much traffic, but some. Since the environs of Anaheim are in the early stages of development and since the city and that growth must begin immediately and along certain well-defined lines. Prompt and intelligent action must be settled upon and then put into being. The open hand must be extended wholeheartedly to new residents, new tract developers, and desirable industry. Or, Anaheim should officially go on record after taking another course. On still another front, commercial growth must be paced with residential and industrial growth. It can, in fact, do much toward encouraging the other two Anaheim's fine stores, ample parking areas, easy access to free way travel (which will lure additional people to Anaheim), and promotional activity can do much toward bringing the commute type of breadwinner and his family here. Besides contributing to the residential growth, this provides further economic cushion since these people are paid outside Anaheim but spend the money in Anaheim. And, most important they enter into the civic school and social life of the community. Completion of the new Santa Ana-Los Angeles Freeway will make it possible for more and more of these folks to settle here. However—if it is more desirable—we can stand pat and let these folks drive right on by Anaheim. But, it does represent part of the "hasle" about zoning. And shows it can be worked out. How about traffic? Light industries would have workers driving their cars to and from work, suppliers would truck in materials, finished products would move out etc.Not too much traffic, but some. Since the environs of Anaheim are in the early stages of development and since the city and county would have to make some provision for increased traffic, the Planning commission might lay out a new and simple truck road system that will prevent undue traffic in residential areas. Residents of N.Olive st.,have had some experience with traffic serving the industrial area on the northern edge of Anaheim.(This is chiefly citrus traffic.) Even folk with children, when asked, said the traffic flow didn't present much of a problem—except the noise of some trucks was imical to sleeping of babies. Most of the residents, however, hadn't thought too much about it until questioned. So,让你 take another look at the map. It would indicate there is a good network of roads in the area to the southeast to keep traffic out of Anaheim residential areas. In fact, steps could be taken to eliminate much of the heavy trucking that now goes right smack through the center of Anaheim—both north-south and east-west. This should be done before home-building in the county areas east of Anaheim makes it impossible to lay out a new road. Perhaps a "by-pass" road could be routed from Manchester via Vermont or Ball rd.,and then angle off into Anaheim-Olive east of Anaheim.State aid.of course, would be necessary to improve existing roads and build new ones. Anyway, that's an idea which has been advanced to help alleviate a growing traffic problem. CONCLUSION If Anaheim is to grow within its potentialities,we have seen, then, Carlin,John King,Hazel Morris,Cameron Burns,Joyce Ryan,Lynn Darshay,Beverly Wagner,Rev.Frank Butterworth,Otto Trapp,Dorothy Peck,Lois WilkersonRev.C.I.Andrews,Rev Howard Congdon,Chuck Holiday,Orman Harlow,Clara Faulkner,Louise Miller,Roscoe Young,W.E.Witte,dental growth,这 provides further economic cushion since these people are paid outside Anaheim but spend the money in Anaheim. And,最 important they enter into the civic, school and social life of the community. Completion of the new Santa Ana-Los Angeles Freeway will make it possible for more and more of these folks to settle here. However-if it is more desirable—we can stand pat and let these folks drive right on by Anaheim. The big, important key to all the problems of when, where, and how Anaheim shall grow lies with the private citizen's desires. Public opinion can build "greater Anaheim,"can force resumption of the "status quo" or allow Anaheim to become "little guy" sandwiched between two big neighboring towns. It is up to you. As a resident of Anaheim, what do you think? What do you want to do about it? The end (This series of articles,of courses may draw conclusions which you consider faulty, skate on thin ice or just plain make you peeve Well,我们 are interested in what you think.Do you want to write us a little piece about all this we'd certainly welcome it.An you can never tell,它 might get into print and do a whale of a lot of good.)
