Anaheim Gazette, Wednesday, Sept. 6, 1950 Poet Registry Begins Sept. 14 Registration for the fall semester at Whittier College will officially begin Thursday, September 14, Dean Kenneth R. Richardson, director of admissions, announced today. Enrollment will take place in Hoover Memorial hall and will be extended for three days to accommodate the more than 1150 students expected to register for the first semester at the Poet school. Fall classes are scheduled to begin Monday September 18. Class schedules and work sheets were mailed to all returning students last week with the notice that local Selective Service Boards may defer students who have completed one year of college work, were among the upper academic half of their college class, and prior to August 1, 1950, have indicated intention to enroll in a full time study course during the coming semester. Under a new policy inaugurated this year by the college, both new and returning students will register at the same time. Registration periods by alphabetical groups are as follows: A-C 8 a.m., to 1 noon, Thursday, September 14. D-H 1 p.m., to 5 p.m., Thursday, September 14. I-M 8 a.m., to 12 noon, Friday, September 15. N-Sm 1 p.m., to 5 p.m., Friday, September 15. Sm-Z 8 a.m., to 12 noon, Saturday, September 16. In nine years as a head football coach, Henry Frnka has fielded teams that have won 58 games, lost 21 and tied four.
