Affiliation of the Abstract and Title Insurance Company of Santa Ana with Title Insurance and Trust Company of Los Angeles was consumed September 1, states Roland A. Kloess, president and manager of the Santa Ana firm. Officer and personnel of the Santa Ana firm remain unchanged, according to Kloess. He added that the affiliation brings to Orange county landowners, lenders and lessees the protection given by the resources and experience of California's largest title insurance company. Henceforth policies issued will be backed by the assets of the los Angeles firm. Title Insurance and Trust Company, a major factor in the development of California land commodity, was organized in 1893. The parent company of the Santa Ana firm, Abstract and Title Guaranty Company, was organized in 1896. Officers of Abstract and Title Insurance Company are Kloess, president; Charles C. Fuller, secretary; Francis B. Hill, assistant secretary; and Harry R. Noble, title officer. FIND LOST MAN PORTERVILLE (A)—A 78-year-old Porterville man, lost eight days in a steep, brush-covered region of Sequoia National Forest, was found alive last night by three fishermen. They carried the aged man, Jacob Perry, out of the area to an ambulance, which took him to Porterville. His rescuers reported Perry was in good condition despite the fact that he had not eaten since he became separated from a fishing party at Quaking Aspen Creek August 27. Business Machine Operators Paged Calculating machine operators proficient in either the Burroughs or comptometer machine are wanted for jobs in State offices in many localities, says the Recruitment Section of the State Personnel Board. The jobs pay a starting salary of $190 monthly and range through merit increases to a maximum of $231. Examinations will be held in October and applications are now being accepted by Personnel Board offices in Sacramento, San Francisco, or Los Angeles. The tests will be given in these cities and as many others as applications warrant. Applications must be filed before October 7 to be considered. Applications are being accepted for the following positions until the dates indicated: September 8: State Traffic Officer, $281. Applications for enrollment in Zion Lutheran school are now being accepted, according to announcement by Principal Walter Knigge. In order to insure approval of applicants before the first session, school authorities urge prospective students to file their applications before registration day, Friday, September 8. Applications can be placed through Rev. E. H. Pflug, Zion Lutheran pastor. Registration can be made Friday, any time between 9 a.m., and 12 noon, at the school, 205 N. East st. At this time pupils and parents may meet the teachers, become acquainted with the school plant, have desks assigned, pay school fees, learn the bus schedules, and the like. Pupils may leave when the registration is completed. The bus will not operate on registration day. Regular school sessions will begin at 9 a.m., Monday, September 11, with the bus on its regular routes. The Rev E. H.
