guard him. No man knows what fate may befall his children. And that is what makes life interesting and exciting, and probably no baby. If given its choice, would prefer to come into a cut and dried world, no matter how safe.
As to your question whether it is worth while having children from the parents' standpoint, I should say yes, if the parents are normal human beings. Possibly people who are selfish, self-centered egotists do not find children worth the trouble they cost, but most men and women get the purest happiness they ever have out of their babies.
As we grow older our interest in ourselves wanes. We don't care so much about ourselves and our personal hopes. We don't believe in ourselves so much. We know that nothing much awaits us in the future. What was in us to do, we have done, and it wasn't so not. And so if we have no children we have no keen interest in the future.
But if we have children we still have a stake in the game. What we haven't done we expect them to do. Where we have failed we look to them to succeed. We live again in them and it keeps us keyed up, alert and young ourselves.
WILL FILED
The will of Dennis James McCarthy, of Anaheim, who died July 14, has been filed for probate in Superior Court. Its value being estimated at $620.71 in personal property. The will named two heirs, cousins of the deceased, Mary G. Gallagher and Ethel C. Holland, both of Dorchester, Mass.

Annexation Plea Gets Preliminary Council Approval
City Councilmen last night accorded preliminary o.k. to an annexation proposal which would add 11.46 acres to the city bordering East Santa Ana st. east of East st.
Approval of the annexation move was sought by Arval Morris who showed Councilmen the tentative map of a subdivision contemplating construction of 2 new homes on the area:
The lots, as mapped out, average 80 feet by 126 feet. They all have an area of 10,000 square feet or more, Morris said.
Two homes are now completed on the tract, Morris stated, two more are under construction and one is ready for ground breaking.
The Council signified no objection to the annexation request. City Attorney Preston Turner advised Morris that a petition bearing the names of property owners in the area must precede official annexation action by the Council.
FILES FOR PROBATE
The late R. O. Monnig; of Anaheim, who died May 16, left an estate valued at approximately $1000 in personal property to his widow, Mrs. Emma C. Monnig, 408 S. Palm st., Anaheim, it was shown when his will was filed for probate by a son, Bernard Monnig, of 120 S. Kroeger st., Anaheim. Mrs. Monnig also petitioned the court to terminate the joint tenancy interest of her husband in Anaheim real estate.
