If you have the accessories for each change of clothing down to the last bobby pin, clip, shoe, slip, etc., you are ready to pack. Packing at a convenient working height is easier on your back than packing on the floor. It is a help to take an overnight bag if you can, so that you will only have to open your large suitcase when you reach your destination. A cosmetic kit is handy too. If your budget rules that out, buy new small sizes of cosmetics just for the trip and seal all the liquid ones with scotch tape. Shoes take up the most room so stuff them with soft things like washeloths, hosiery, etc. Pack the heaviest things which will probably be your shoes, first, and then add items that will not crush such as bathing suits or sweaters. Put the most perishable clothes on top—dresses, suits, blouses and so on. The very best way to insure unwrinkled clothes is to think how they will travel when you choose them. Jerseys, laces, light silks and knitwear all have good pack-ability. When you get to your destination, unpack as soon as you can.
