The WCTU of Anaheim, meet in the northwest corner city park Tuesday, August 13th at noon for a potluck luncheon. Those attending are quested to bring a covered coat and their own table service. Installation of new officers will place at 2:00 p.m. with Esther Harpe of Garden Grove official at the ceremony.
Don Bain of 214 N. Lemon left Saturday for a two-weeks visit with his aunt and uncle in Santa Barbara. His parents Mr. and M. Edward Bain accompanied him to Santa Barbara have returned home.
William Schumacher, Jr., Buena Park and Vera R. Sprague of Whittier were issued a marriage license recently.
Anniversary Honors Given Local Couple
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cushing were honored at a surprise party when a group of friends gathered at their home, 8221 12 Baldwin Street, night to congratulate the couple on their 20th wedding anniversary, August 1.
The evening was spent in visiting and playing games appropriate to the occasion. Centering the coffee table in the living room was a wedding picture of the honored couple. Bouquets of carnations and gladiolus were further decorations.
A china cakeplate and a tablecloth were presented to the honorees preceding the serving of refreshments, which included ice cream, cake and coffee.
Attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kissell, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Niles, Jackie and Frank Cushing, the honorees children, all of Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence DeLahaye of Furnerton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Canson of Orange, Mr. and Mrs. William Hobbs and daughter Marilyn of Long Beach, Miss Sally Johnson of Santa Maria, and Henny Gershtein of Littleton.

Special Program Highlights Wesley Methodist Potluck
The regular monthly potluck dinner or Wesley Methodist church took the form of an all-church picnic Friday, when members and friends met in the city park.
A special program of games for children of the Sunday school began at 4 p.m. under the direction of Superintendent Mrs. Hugh Nipp. She was assisted by Pat LaRock, Many Brunnetet, Mary Lou Loessin and Susan Arnold.
At 6:30 p.m., 75 other members and guests joined them for supper and an evening of fellowship. A short business meeting was conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Daniel Miller and M. M. McConnell, finance chairman, to prepare for next months activities.
Fidelis Class Hall Potluck Luncheon
Thirty-two people were when the Fidelis class of the Temple Methodist church Thursday for a potluck lunch which was also attended by members of the church staff. Frank Butterworth Andrews and Don Brummn.
Program chairman Mrs. Leef presented Mrs. Ralph who gave poem selection; Emma Price read an art Bible and Youth" and "Are All the Children In't of the devotions.
Also included in the afternoon program were two solo's some, That's All" and "Today" by Mrs. Ralph Lo gave a recitation entitled Land of Beginning Again Leef gave a poem called "tale."

Stanton Items
Wayne L. Butterbaugh, superintendent of the Savanna school district, announced the regular public hearing of the school budget by the school board will be held Wednesday, August 2, at 7:30 p.m.
Ted Bartlett, president of the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce will be guest speaker at the Stanton Chamber of Commerce, Tuesday, August 1 at 8 p.m.
The public is invited.
In answer to a request from Supervisor Ralph McAdam regarding whether or not the Latin-American quarters should be granted street lights, the chamber would like to hear expressions from the taxpayers before enforcing this request.
The Latin American quarter, already part of the Stanton Lighting District, is sharing the taxes that maintain the 13 lights already established on Stanton ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Royal C. Marten, 9761 Western ave., and their three sons, Terry, Randy and Vicky, have just returned from a four day trip to San Francisco. Marten is on vacation from his job as chief counselor at the Santa Ana College.
Frank Fargo of Buena Park and Lois Holeman of La Habra were issued a license to wed recently.

Fidelis Class Has Potluck Luncheon
Thirty-two people were present when the Fidelis class of the White Temple Methodist church met Thursday for a potluck luncheon, which was also attended by three members of the church staff, the Rev. Frank Butterworth, C. I. Andrews and Don Brummit.
Program chairman Mrs. Ernest Leef presented Mrs. Ralph Oliver who gave poem selections. Mrs. Emma Price read an article "The Bible and Youth" and a poem "Are All the Children In" as part of the devotions.
Also included in the afternoon's program were two solo's "Loneome, That's All" and "Just for Today" by Mrs. Ralph Locht, who gave a recitation entitled "The Land of Beginning Again." Mrs. Leef gave a poem called "The Tellalee."
The program was closed with Mrs. Butterworth's reading of two six o'clock dinner is ready to set on the table, often in the very same dishes in which it bakes.

Bake in a moderate oven.
