Local Couple
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin E. Rogers of 125 E. Oak st., were honored at a surprise house-warming given by hostesses, Mrs. Elmer Claugh of Fullerton, mother of Mrs. Rogers and Mrs. Earle Rogers of Olive.
Ice cream and tiny cakes attractively decorated were served to those attending who were: Mrs. Marie Rogers, Mrs. Frances Chides, Mrs. Jeanette Dennison, all of Fullerton; Mrs. Melanie Dinguel or minors, grandmother of Mrs. Rogers; Mrs. Annabene Cornwell of Holly; Mrs. Anne Long, Mrs. Annie Lamarz, Mrs. Bertha Heitshusen, Mrs. Yvonne Hoppenstall and her daughter Joan an Olive.
Unable to attend were: Mrs Anna C. Heitshusen and Mrs. Bertha Reemster, both of Olive.
This was the second housewarming given honoring the Roger and their two young sons, James Michael and Avni, Jr. Several members of the police department and their wives recently gathered at the home to honor them.
Barbara Olsen of 912 N. Citron was honored at a family dinner celebrating her birthday recently. Attending were: Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Olsen, parents of the honoree, her sister, Karen and brother, Howard; Mr. and Mrs. A. Michael and family; Mr. and Mrs. K. Young and family.

Garden Provides Natural Setting for Laura Null-Frederick Obarr Marriage
Wearing a white cotton lace gown, featuring a low cut neckline and white jacket, Miss Laura Jeanette Null and Frederick C. Obarr were wed in an impressive garden ceremony at the home of the bride's parents, 10332 E. Stanford, Garden Grove.
A double strand of pearls accented the gown and her veil was of fingertip length. Something old in the bride's ensemble was a handkerchief carried by her grandmother when she was wed. The bridal bouquet was a cascade arrangement of white carnations and stephanotis, tied with knotted satin streamers.
Barbara Clar was maid of honor and wore a yellow organdy dress with matching jacket and carried a basket of purple asters. Bridesmaid Norma Rhyner wore a gown identical to the maid's of honor and also carried a basket of asters.
Richard Null, youngest brother of the bride was the ring bearer. Best man to the groom was George Perkins and ushers were: Dennis Alward, Arthur Fergus, Jr., Bill Holbrook, Donald and David Null, brothers of the bride.
The Rev. B. C. Brewster of the Garden Grove Methodist church was the officiating clergy at the rites which were spoken in the archway of a garden trellis. Baskets or white marconi drapes were added decorations to the natural beauty of the garden.

Assisting at the reception which was held in the garden immediately following the marriage, were Mrs. Duane Taylor, Mrs. C. W. Johnson, Mary Jane Fitch and Mrs. Fred Dunn. Presiding at the guest book was Nancy Jagger. Nearly 200 guests were present at the reception, many of them coming from out of town.
Upon the couple's return from a week at Idyllwild, they will establish a home at Starkville, Miss.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Null of Garden Grove, and is a graduate of the Progress school in Long Beach. She attended two years at Stanford.
Frederick Obarr of 9192 Westminster blvd., is the father of the groom, who is a student at Mississippi state college, where he is studying Aero-engineering.

In Formal Rites at Capilla de San Antonio
Exchanging their vows in the chapel of Capilla De San Antonio, Miss Barbara Cash and Dale Gibson were married in a formal ceremony with Rev. Al Casebeer acting as clergy.
The bride's gown was of imported shadow organdy, fashioned with a long train, tiered flounces, long tight bodice and portrait neckline. She also wore eibow length mitts tapering into a graceful juliet cuff. Her veil was of illusion and fingertip in length.
A pure white orchid and sprays of lily of the valley made up the bridal bouquet, which was carried atop a white Bible.
Miss Diane Cash, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a white organdy, bouffant skirt, with strapless underbodice of emerald green, styled with a mandarin color.
She carried a parasol covered in eyelet embroidery and edged with horsehair braid. Yellow rosebuds, yellow and white daisies were draped over the top. The handle was wrapped in green satin ribbon.
Mrs. Kenneth Vertress, Mrs. Ronald Morris and Mrs. Harry Riley, bridesmaids, were dressed in gowns patterned after the maid of honor's and carried parasols also.
Patricia Rowe, cousin of the bride, was flower girl and wore a dress identical to the bridesmaids. Ring bearer was Larry Leigh.
Norman Teeter served the groom as best man, with Bill Clark, Jim Fisher and Norman La Londe acting as ushers.
Nuptial soloists were Yvonne Bozarth, cousin of the bride, who sang 'Ave Maria,' and Lizebeth Dwight who joined her in two duet numbers, "Because," and "The Lord's Prayer."
Assisting at the reception was Mrs. William Rowe, and Jayne Bozarth. It was held in the garden of the bride's parents home on Illinois st., Potted plants, many flowers and gaily colored umbrellas placed about the lawn added a festive look. Miss Mabel Bedall presided at the guest book.
Following the reception the bride, dressed in a navy print dress and coat with navy accessories and wearing the orchid from her bridal bouquet, and her husband, Rachael Bell, Ida Mae Baker, Edna Grundale, Violet Cornwall, Mable Coldan and Edna Crandell.
Distinguished guests present included Henry Mang, past grand patriarch and Dr. Phillip Beyhan, grand chaplain of the grand lodge.
Shirley Ray Feted At Surprise Party
A surprise birthday dinner was given last Friday, honoring Miss Shirley Ray of 1104 W. Center. Hostess for the occasion was Miss Jeri Long, the honoree's aunt, 720 N. Clementine.
Table decorations followed a yellow and green color scheme with a huge bouquet of flowers centering the dinner table. During the festivities pictures were taken of the group and later in the evening a show was enjoyed by everyone.
Attending in addition to the honoree and hostess were: Miss Marlene Fox, Miss Joyce Enloe, Miss LaVerne Hooker, Miss Margaret Gardner and Miss Carol Domries.
E. Clasen-R. Stuard Engagement Told
Mr. and Mrs. John Clasen of 842 S. Philadelphia st., announced the engagement of their daughter Elva to Ray Stuard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Truman Stuard, formerly of this city, but now of La Jolla.
August 27 is the date set for the wedding, which will take place at the Zion Lutheran church in Anaheim. Following their marriage the couple will live in La Jolla, where they have a wearing apparel shop called Stuard's Originals. The bride-elect will manage the shop while Stuard attends San Diego State college, where he will be a junior.
Both Miss Clasen and Stuard attended Anaheim Union High school and Fullerton Junior college, where the groom-to-be was very active in sports.
Assisting at the reception was Mrs. William Rowe, and Jayne Bozarth. It was held in the garden of the bride's parents home on Illinois st., Potted plants, many flowers and gaily colored umbrellas placed about the lawn added a festive look. Miss Mabel Bedall presided at the guest book.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Cash of this city, and was a graduate of Anaheim High school, where she was affiliated with the Sub Debs. She attended Fullerton Junior college and is now employed in Los Angeles.
The groom, son of Mrs. Helene Gibson, 118 Pearl st., served 22 months in the navy and is now employed in Downey.
Following their honeymoon the couple will live in a newly built home in South Whittier.
Fullerton Rebekahs Have Installation
Several Anaheim Rebekahs attended the Fullerton group's installation recently. Garnet Moore of this city was installed as vice grand, while H. Bolton took over the duties of the noble grand.
Nellie Mills, also of Anaheim was an escort on Eva Lee's installing staff and took an active part in the ceremony.
Others to assume offices were: Beth Boheney, Lois Annin, Eleanor Campbell, Nell Zimmerman, Olive Patton, Dona Odom, Bertha Jolla, where they have a wearing apparel shop called Stuard's Originals.
