Nation at Glance (Continued from Page 1) In a statement that the president be given power to ration goods and control prices, he said that if controls are put on prices, they should be rolled back to the level of June 25—the date the Koreans marched. SACRAMENTO — California's Home Guard was ordered activated yesterday by Governor Warren—so it can take over if the National Guard is called into the Army. Warren said he has no official information that the Golden State Guard will be called into duty to help meet the Korean crisis. But he said he wanted to "take time by the forelock." President Truman authorized the calling of National Guardsmen two days ago. The reserve guard, officially known as the California Defense and Security Corps, was authorized by the legislature last year—to defend California and maintain home front security in the regular guard leaves. The law provides for a maximum of some 12,800 men in two divisions, said Warren. Prediction of an 11,030,000 population for California by July 1, 1952, has been made by the California State Department of Finance. He began with a two-car garage built over into a cold storage locker. Today, his business utilizes Anaheim and Santa Ana cold storage facilities capable of storing 150 carloads of food and employs 16 men. The plant has handled up to 500,000 pounds of frozen goods on a day. Henry's right hand men in the venture are Lester Grainger, who serves as assistant manager, and S. Blount, chief engineer.
