Absolutely different GOD, PRESERVER OF MAN CHRISTIAN SCIENCE TOPIC The Golden Text of the Sunday Presson-Sermon on "God the Preserver of Man" in all branches of the Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, is chosen from the Psalms and reads: "Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord; but they lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me." A Bible passage from Matthew reports that a leper came to Jesus saying, "Lord, if thou wilt, thou hast make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. ... And Jesus went about preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. ... Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is pientuous, but the labourers are few." "Divine Truth, Life, and Love gave Jesus authority over sin, sickness, and death," writes Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Again she says, "Be no more willing to suffer the illusion that you are sick or that some disease is developing in the system, than you are to yield to a sinful temptation on the ground that sin has its necessities."
