Social and Club Activities Phone 2206 Mrs. L. A. Benner Is YLI President XLI has set June 19 as the date for the installation of the new officers the organization elected Monday evening. The incoming officers are Mrs. L. A. Benner president, Mrs. William Jolissaint, first vice-president, Mrs. Robert Rimpau Sr., second vice-president, Mrs. Leo Martin, recording secretary, Mrs. Don May, treasurer, and Mrs. Don Dolan, financial secretary. Others are Mrs. Charles Rees, inside sentinel, Mrs. George Waldman, outside sentinel, and Miss June Carter, organist. Trustees are Mrs. Mary Clark, Mrs. Ann Miller, Mrs. Frances Hone, Mrs. John Ricker, and Mrs. Ferdinand Patin. Dr. J. W. Truxaw is examining physician and Father David Coleman is chaplain. The past president is Miss Mary Ellen Grady. During the meeting Father Coleman discussed the Negro as viewed by the Catholic Church. He said there are 15,000,000 Negroes in the United States. Less than three per cent, he said, are Catholics. He pointed out that racial discrimination is condemned by the church and gave cases in point to illustrate this fact. garet Buttree Studio at the Ebell Club. The first half of the program Friday consisted of all piano ensembles played by the younger children. Ann Thomason also sang "Ave Maria" accompanied at the piano by her mother, Mrs. O. Thomason. The second half of the program featured more advanced players including: Mary Lee Holiday, Phyllis Kirchman, Doris Holve, Joe and Jan Critchfield, Cathy Peltzer, Carol Muckenthaler, Craig Steinman, Linda Lutz, Marian Carecausa, Ellen Nelson, Judy Belie Wicker, Myrna Llewellyn, Gloria Uriate, Janet Larson and Glenda Mungerson. Intermediate grades and high school students were the participants of the Saturday night affair. Students in intermediate grades took over the first part of Saturday night program. Buttree Recital Series Completed Performances Friday and Saturday evening brought to a close the series of three recitals presented by students of the MarIntermediate grades and high school students were the participants of the Saturday night affair. Mrs. Sadie Losinger of Glendale was her house guest over the local Grace Lutheran church. Miss Lompe was presented a cross and crown pin, and a corsage of red carnations. Mrs. William Lotz arrived Sunday night from Chicago, Ill. for a visit with her sister, Mrs. J. R. Shultz, 118 S. Los Angeles st. Parker, 1015 W. Broadway. Mrs. Sadie Losinger of Glendale was her house guest over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. E. Langer, 721 N. Paulina st., celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary Monday. Fifty ladies of the Anaheim Home Department of the Orange County Farm Bureau Agricultural extension service, attended the ham dinner and demonstration of the Chambers range, at the Anaheim Appliance store last Thursday night. The group met in the new auditorium in the rear of the store, which is available, free of charge, to any group or organization for home economic demonstrations. Door prizes were presented to the Home Department's welfare fund. On June 7, a laundry and drier demonstration will be held, to which the public is invited. June 13, groups from La Habra and Yorba Linda, will hold a demonstration in the store's auditorium, which is equipped with a stage for program presentations. Mrs. Maude Watts left Sunday for her home in Vancouver following a two weeks visit with her sister, Mrs. Alice Holland, and her nieces, Mrs. J. F. Ryan and Mrs. E. D. Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. James Kilduff went in to Los Angeles the other evening to see "South Pacific." They report an enjoyable presentation and Jim claims to have acquired some South Pacific dialect. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rossberg and son, Peter, spent Sunday afternoon at Newport Beach. They hope there will be more days like Sunday this summer. Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Hineman are the parents of a baby daughter, born at St. Francis hospital, Compton, June 3. Her name is Carol Jean. The Hinemans have another daughter, Margaret Ann. The family is moving to a new Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rossberg and son, Peter, spent Sunday afternoon at Newport Beach. They hope there will be more days like Sunday this summer. Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Hineman are the parents of a baby daughter, born at St. Francis hospital, Compton, June 3. Her name is Carol Jean. The Hinemans have another daughter, Margaret Ann. The family is moving to a new home in Golden Hill, Fullerton, the latter part of the month. The maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Grafton. The paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Hineman. The grandparents are residents of Anaheim. Mrs. Charles (Chuck) Chandler, formerly of this city, now of Los Angeles, was "Queen for a Day," on the well known radio program, over KHJ, last Friday. She received a paid vacation trip, for herself and husband, to the Sonoma Mission Inn, and $1000 in merchandise prizes. Miss Elizabeth Lompe, 319 S.
