Social and Club Activities Phone 2206 Mrs. Milton Spencer Is Installed President of Anaheim Ebell Club Mrs. Milton Spencer, yesterday, was installed as the new president of the Anaheim Ebell club at a luncheon and installation meeting of the organization. She succeeds Mrs. Arthur Roquet. Other officers installed are Mrs. W. E. Whiteman, first vice-president; Mrs. Emory Simon, second vice-president; Mrs. Harry I. Horn, recording secretary; Mrs. Charles Bush, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Herbert Deane, treasurer; Mrs. Paul Gilbert, financial secretary; Mrs. Fred L. Larsen, auditor; Mrs. H. T. Fackiner, curator and Mrs. John Wilson, parliamentarian. Newly installed trustees are Mrs. D. Jerry Youngs, Mrs. Charles Harbeson, Mrs. Llewellyn E. Wilson, Mrs. M. A. Gauer, Mrs. Wilbert Bonney and Mrs. Arthur Roquet. Preceding the installation of the officers, a luncheon was served under the direction of Mrs. A. E. Bourne, Mrs. Fred Lee and Mrs. Mark Stephenson. Decorations for the luncheon were under the supervision of Mrs. D. Jerry Youngs and Mrs. S. K. Watters. The table decorations consisted of small wagon trains and gold nuggets in commeration of California's centennial. At the luncheon meeting Mrs. W. E. Whiteman gave a brief report on the state convention in Sacramento recently. Mrs. George Fowler, president of Junior Ebell, presented the club with lamp shades for the club house lounge. During the luncheon, the Anaheim high school string ensemble entertained. Following the luncheon a program was presented under the direction of Mrs. Whiteman. It included musical selections by the Bassett Trio—Mr. and Mrs. Williard Bassett, vocalists and Miss Ruth Armstrong, accompanist. Mrs. Ray Ortez, Jr., president of the Orange County Federation of Women's clubs, junior membership, was installing officer. Mrs. Ortez is the daughter of Mrs. Spencer, the new club president. Theme chosen by Mrs. Ortez was the wagon train of pioneer days. She presented the incoming officers with articles typical of those used by the old wagon trains. The president received a whip, the vice-president a rifle and other officers received similar tokens. In the absence of Mrs. Gilbert financial secretary, Mrs. J. Ben Kaulbars took her place in the installation ceremonies. Mrs. Roquet was absent due to the death of her brother in Streator Illinois. Magnolia School To Graduate 18 STANTON — Pastor Charles White, of the Stanton Community church, will be the principal speaker when Magnolia School No. 1 holds its graduation exercises June 8, at 8 p.m. in the school auditorium. The class prophecy, a skit by the eighth-graders and solos by Mrs. John Flynn will serve as a prologue to the graduaton program which will begin with the National Anthem and the pledge of allegiance led by Audrene Godwin. Installing custodians attended to the lighting of the candles before the entrance of Guardian Mrs. Faye Hall and Associate Guardian, Marlin Hall. Methodist Women Install Officers Newly elected officers of the Wohnen's Society of Christian Service of Wesley Methodism were installed Sunday evening at a special dedicatory service. Choosing the theme of Christian stewardship, Mrs. Cliff Elliott who did the installing, had four officers build the WSCS emblem as each was charged with her respective responsibilities. The treasurer, Mrs. Cecil Bailen placed the golden wreath representing dedication of self; Mrs. Charles Davis, vice-president; two hemispheres for dedication service and Mrs. Wayne Clark president, the cross which centric the emblem representing dedication of soul. Appropriate hymns were sung as each part was faded to a large easel. To complete the program, series of V's was chosen for various chairmen realizing vital part they play in the WSCS work. A V arrangement of white tapers each one bearing V cutout was used for this part of the ceremony. Mrs. Clark, new president lighted the center taper from which the chairmen subsequently lighted theirs as each was instaled. Mrs. Dick Chapman, missionary educator, was given the V vision; Mrs. T. Pritchard, spiritual life; V of virtue; Mrs. Mary Cham, publications; V of value; Mr Hugh Nipp, supplies and chairman of the younger women group; V of vigor; Mrs. Flora Witt, chairman of Dorcas Circle; V of vigilance, a candle was lighted by her assistant, M. readings by Marion Carcousa. Miss Seekins is a 1947 graduate of Anaheim Union High school, and since her graduation from Santa Ana Junior college in June of 1949, has been associated with her father at the Gem Theater in Garden Grove. Mr. Smith is a graduate of Brea High school, attended Fullerton college and is now with the State Forestry service at Coarsegold, Calif., where the couple plan to make their future home. Mrs. Emerett Adams, Berwyn, Illinois, recently visited Miss Buryl Colip, 315 E. North st. Mrs. Maude Watts of Vancouver, B.C., who has been visiting at the home of Mrs. J. F. Ryan, 841 N. Janet Vincent escorted by her father, Harley Vincent, then entered the Bethel as all lights were dimmed. A large spot light threw a halo over her head as she was seated. Edith Shuman read the Floral Cross ceremony as each officer marched to the East and pinned their flowers on a large ivy-covered cross. Mrs. Shuman then sang the "Old Rugged Cross." The escort of the "Holy Bible" a ritual in the ceremony which always brings a hush over the attentive audience, was carried to the alter by Hoby Sholl, nephew of the queen, while soft music in the background lent atmosphere to the occasion. Presentation of the National Colors was followed by a prayer by the installing chaplain. Installation, obligations and proclamations then took place with each officer taking her station in the Bethel. The Honored Queen was then presented and introduced to the audience. A gavel was awarded her by her father, and in accepting readings by Marion Carcousa. He the closing ceremony, the office in their white robes, formed cross and then knelt while Ms. Shuman sang "Nearer My Goddess." Patty Mattox was in charge of the guest book while Jay Mead and Jim Vincent were ushers. As a final unifying note the group read in unison a prayer of dedication. Following the closing hymn "Lead On, Oh King Eternal," Rev. Daniel Miller concluded with a prayer.
