The largest newsgathering staff in existence and the world's most extensive systems of news wires, cables and wireless facilities will join forces with The Anaheim Gazette on May 8.
On that date, The Associated Press will start delivering its world news report to The Gazette. High speed teletypes, are now being installed in our newsroom. They will deliver the cream of the news from AP’s globe-girdling system. Big news from Washington Moscow, London, Tokyo; from our own state capital or any other city in the state, will be received by The Gazette a few minutes or even seconds after it happens.
An important bulletin from New York, London or Moscow can reach The Gazette in a matter of mere minutes or even seconds. The electric impulse carrying AP news travels with the speed of light—186,000 miles a second. News flashed into The Gazette office will be received on teletype machines that type out the “copy” at 60 words a minute.

porting the Local Scene
First and Foremost
The Anaheim Gazette is celebrating its 80th year of recording the Anaheim scene by "going" daily on May 8.
Publishers of the Gazette are convinced there is a definite place in the newspaper field in this area for a newspaper which will concentrate on telling the story of local people, local events, local achievements, local problems—all with local pictures.
To supplement this formula, the Gazette has been selected to represent the incomparable Associated Press in Northern Orange county. We will have the FULL AP service, news, features, and pictures.
The weekly Gazette will convert publication with this issue—an octogenerian. But its devotion to the people of Anaheim, its important place in the affairs of this area, and its position of recorder of the eventful history of Anaheim will not be discontinued.
In fact, publication of a daily newspaper will provide greater facilities and opportunities for us to broaden, improve, and carry on the tradition of the weekly Gazette.
The mission of the new Gazette, as it was during the first 80 years of publication, will be only to serve the best interest of the good folks of the Anaheim area.
