Fremont P-TA Honors President
The Fremont P-TA board meeting was held Wednesday morning, April 19, in the home of Mrs. Ray Reafsynder, 521 North Clementine street.
Mr. Wilbert Bonney, principal of Fremont Junior high school reported on two coming events: the Glee Club's presentation of "H.M.S. Pinafore," on April 25, and the "Open House" to be held all day Thursday, April 27.
A committee was appointed by Mrs. Carl Lindgren, president, to write the Anaheim elementary school board and the Anaheim city council indicating a desire for an increased recreational program under increased competent supervision. Appointed to serve on this committee were Mesdames M. L. Fort, Ray Reafsynder and George Kohlenberger.
The president presented handkerchiefs to Henrietta Slingsby and Bessie Frey for their assistance in preparing Fremont P-TA bulletins.
Mrs. Howard Wilkinson, vice-president presented a Patio Salad set to Mrs. Carl Lindgren, the outgoing president, in recognition of her capable leadership during the past year.
Mrs. Philip Selfridge gave the devotional.
After the meeting, a pot luck luncheon was held in the patio of the Reafsynder home. Present at the luncheon were, Miss Lucia Upp, Miss Harriet Schadewald, Mr. Wilbert Bonney and Mr. A. E. Bourne, all Fremont faculty members, also Mesdames H. D. Wilkinson, Geo. Kohlenberger, Paul Schmid, Wm. Richel, Bay Reafsyder, Paul Brandt, Fred Fischle, W. G. Head, Glenn Kirk, Marion Henry, R. A. Gosnell, S. E. Loard and Miss Adelaide Price. Special guests were Henrietta Slingsby and Bessie Frey.
TB Secretary Resigns Post
Jack Spear, executive secretary of the Orange County Tuberculosis and Health association has resigned the position to accept the post of director of the Heart association for Los Angeles city and county.
Spear, who has held the position here for one and a half years has left for Indiana to attend an institute for the Heart association which is in session.
Mrs. Hilda Reafsynder, president of the TB board here, said, "Mr. Spear has done outstanding work in community organization and program planning for the association." She said no successor has been named.
The annual meeting of the association is to be held Wednesday, April 26th, at 7 p.m. in the Community clubhouse, 1104 West 8th street, Santa Ana. The public is invited. Reservations will be accepted until April 24th.
