Audubón Screen Tours Present Howard Cleaves "Animals Unaware". was the subject of Howard Cleaves' first all-color film, presented on Tuesday night at the Francis Willard Junior high school in Santa Ana, under the auspices of the Audubon Screen Tours. This was Mr. Cleaves' second appearance in Santa Ana, having appeared on the same program series in January of 1947. Mr. Cleaves' home is on Staten Island, where many of these pictures were taken, an amazing fact considering that it is a part of New York City, but still strangely undeveloped. He began his study of photography under Thomas A. Edison in 1913 and studied natural sciences at Harvard. Mr. Cleaves was official photographer for the Pinchot South Sea expedition and has contributed pictures to the National Geographic magazine and Saturday Evening Post, among others. Val Moore's Hula Dancers Val Moore's pupils entertained at the first intermission of the Pavalon dance hall in Huntington Beach on Saturday night. Dolores Pool, Bettie and Hazel Schachner, Doris Rouland, Patti Wood and LeRay Williamson performed during the twenty-minute period.
