SOCIAL AND CLUB ACTIVITIES OF THE WEEK Sietske Anna Hummel Plights Troth with Ben Boettger Sunday Miss Sietske Anna Hummel approached the altar upon a white carpet, past bow-trimmed pews, to meet Ben Cyril Boettger in marriage at the Zion Lutheran church of Anaheim at 4 o'clock last Sunday afternoon. The Rev. L. E. Eifert performed the ceremony before the altar decorated with white stock and gladioli in large baskets and potted palms with lighted candelabra. A fan-shaped bouquet was above the altar. Miss Hummel, given in marriage by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jemme Hummel of 6801 Orange avenue, Anaheim, and her groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ben Boettger of 510 South Resh, also of Anaheim. The bride was lovely in ivory satin with a full train falling from the pleated skirt at the waistline. The bodice was fitted with long pointed sleeves. A scattered leaf design of seeded pearls and silver bugle beads added an unusual sparkle to the gown, from the marquisette neckline to the kick pleat ruffle at the toe. The fingertip veil of illusion fell from a crown of the pearls and bugle beads. Miss Hummel wore the bride's traditional blue garter, a lucky penny in her shoe and carried a handkerchief fashioned from her mother's wedding gown. Her bouquet was an arm cascade of stephanotis surrounding a purple-throated white orchid with white streamers knotted with stephanotis. Miss Neva Nixon of Long Beach was maid-of-honor. Her gown was of yellow taffeta with an off-the-shoulder neckline and a full shirt covered with gauze and huskets sweetpeas. Nearly stealing the limelight were the flower girl and ring bearer. Little Susan Morris, cousin of Miss Hummel, wore a chartreuse taffeta dress with puffed sleeves and a sweetheart neckline and scattered sweetpeas of all colors from her basket. Her mother, Mrs. Morris, had been Mrs. Hummel's flower girl. Steven Hummel, another cousin of the bride, carried both rings on a satin pillow. Al Dutzi served Mr. Boettger as best man and ushering duties were carried out by Lee Thornton and Boyd Whitney. Mrs. Olive Kempin was at the organ and Mrs. Veda Dutzi sang "Oh, Promise Me" and while the young couple were kneeling for the blessing, rendered "The Lord's Prayer." At the reception immediately following the ceremony in the church parlors, Mrs. Hummel and Mrs. Boettger received the 250 guests. Mrs. Hummel wore a gray suit with navy and gray accessories and Mrs. Boettger wore a gray suit with black accessories. Both mothers had orchid shoulder corsages. The parlors were decorated with peach blossoms and huskets at 1215 Lincoln, Anaheim. New Mrs. Boettger wore a red suit with a gray hat and gloves and navy shoes and when she left on her wedding trip. Both the newlyweds are graduates of Anaheim Union High School and Fullerton Junior College. Mr. Boettger is employed by his father in the contract business.
