Marilyn Jeanne Yorba, Girard V. Smith
Wed in St. Marys Church Rites Feb. 18
Miss Marilyn Jeanne Yorba, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert J.
Yorba of Esperanza Road, was married to Girard Vincent Smith, son
of Mrs. Everett Brewer of Cathedral City, on Saturday, February 18,
in St. Marys church in Fullerton. Father Michael Carlos read the
nuptial mass at 9:30 in the morning.
Miss Yorba, given in marriage by her father, was clad in a citron
yellow suit with cocoa accessories.
Her bouquet was of white and yellow hyacinths, yellow carnations
and orchids. Her sister, Miss Alberta Yorba, maid-of-honor, wore
a green suit with pink and black accessories and carried a nosegay
of yellow marguerite daisies with a pink gardenia in the center.
Bridesmaid, Miss Joan Menges,
also wore a green suit with like
accessories, but her bouquet was
of pink marguerite daisies with
a yellow gardenia in the center.
Mr. Smith's best man was Jack Lypps and David Lypps and Celestine Allec ushered.
Preceding the ceremony Miss Marcellina Arroues sang "Ave Maria" and "Pavis Angelicus" accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Lester Semans.
A large reception followed the ceremony at the Parish hall of the church. Mrs. Yorba, mother of the bride, gowned in a gray suit with black accessories, and Mrs. Brewer, the bridegroom's mother, wearing a navy blue dress with gray accessories received the Ebell Sections For March
The section announcements for the Anaheim Ebell club for March include the Bridge section meeting on March 15 at 1 p.m. The Home and Garden section will meet on Monday, March 13, at 2:30 p.m. for a dessert after which Mrs. Vern Bishop of Santa Ana, instructor in millinery, will talk on designing and making hats with demonstrations as she speaks.
The Toastmaster section meets at 7:30 p.m. for dessert on Wednesday, March 15. The discussion will be on grammar and voice improvement. Short talks will be given by Mrs. Wilbert H. Bonney, Miss Kathleen McFaul and Mrs. J. S. Van Wagner.
On Monday, March 20, the Bible section will meet at 2:00 p.m. to hear the Rev. Woody Hodson of the First Baptist church of Fullerton. Mrs. H. A. Johnston will be the program chairman. Rev. Hodson's topic will be “Resurrecting World.” Communism stated the speaker is one of the 'diseases' of the day over there. He had no solution to the economic problems over there, not excepting the aid being received from the United States.

The young couple left for a honeymoon of two weeks in San Francisco and upon their return will live in Placentia where Mr. Smith is a rancher.
The new Mrs. Smith graduated from Marywood high school and attended Mt. St. Mary's College and Fullerton Junior college. Mr. Smith was graduated from Valencia high school and attended the University of California at Berkeley and Los Angeles, California Poly and Fullerton Junior college.
Ted Bourne Shows Sandy Valley Line
The Anaheim Model Railroad Society continues its weekly exhibits in the showcase of the reading room of Anaheim Public Library with Ted Bourne's display from his Sandy Valley Lines.
Mr. Bourne has placed the cars on exhibit so that visitors can see how the cars are put together from the work kits. Both passenger and freight cars are shown.
Anyone interested in building and operating O-gauge model trains is invited to join the society which meets every Monday evening at 8 o'clock under the stage of the Greek Theatre in the city park.
Garner Family to Leave for Italy
Mrs. Kent Garner and her children, Jane and Kent, Jr., of 857 North Helena, Anaheim, are leaving March 18 to join Mr. Garner in Milan, Italy.
Mr. Garner, who is superintendent of foreign operations for the Santa Fe Drilling Co., has been in Italy since last October and arrangements have been completed for his family to join him for an extended stay.
They will sail on the S. S. Atlantic.

DESSERT LUNCHEON
Mrs. Floyd S. Peterson will entertain two tables of contract bridge at her home on Friday, March 3, at a dessert luncheon.

Ebell Members to Learn Millinery Art
The next meeting of the Home and Garden section of the Anaheim Ebell club will be on March 13 and will have as guest speak- er, Mrs. Vern Bishop of Santa Ana.
Mrs. Bishop is a teacher of millinery in the Orange Coast College evening classes and at Julia Lathrop school in Santa Ana dur- ing the day. She will speak and demonstrate her art at the s time and bring several mo with her.
