The regular meeting of the Katella 4-H club was highlighted by reports of projects given by different members and a report on the merit card system, set up for determining the most outstanding member in 1950. This latter report was presented by Maryanne Hammatt. Jim Cuthbert, president, presided over the session. Paul Lieb, club leader, announced that plans are being made by the club to enter an exhibit at the Riverside county fair and National Date Festival at Indio in February. In addition, individual entries of livestock, rabbits and poultry will be exhibited by the Katella club. These aspiring farmers were successful in winning awards for their exhibits in the Los Angeles County Fair and Hemet Farmers Fair and Festival this fall. Purpose of the American Legion project of collecting and sending toys to European tots, which began the day after Christmas, is to foster international friendship. In each gift wrapped by Legionnaires and club members was included the name and address of the donor plus a short message. Johnson. A proposal to authorize the issuance of another $100,000,000 in Veterans Bonds will be before the people for approval at the state-wide primary election on June 8th. The Department of Veterans Affairs is currently investing more than $4,000,-000 a month in financing veterans' farms and homes. Benjamin Franklin was the first to propose daylight saving time.
