Week-End Auto Accidents on ‘Minor’ Side Felix G. Cole, 8361 El Cerritos avenue, Anaheim, escaped injury Sunday morning, when his car collided with a machine driven by Kenneth A. Richards, of Westminster, on Westminster avenue, near Illinois street. Injured was Jean Richards, 22, Westminster, who was treated at a Westminster hospital. In a crash at 2:30 a.m. Sunday on Palm street, north of Ball road, Anaheim, Leslie R. Wilson, Santa Ana, received minor injuries. His car collided in the fog with a car driven by Frankie W. Ballis, 41, Pomona. Robert D. Milner, 42, Los Alamitos, was treated in Anaheim Community hospital for injuries received early Sunday when a car driven by his wife, Cecelia, 36, and one driven by Robert C. Nelson, 46, Garden Grove, collided on Euclid avenue near Katella road. Philip L. Vega, 20, Huntington Beach, also was treated in the same hospital for minor injuries Sunday night, after his car went off the road and struck a light pole on Orangethorpe avenue near Walker street, Buena Park. There are 162,000 people employed in the meat packing industry of the U.S. Elks Planning Ladies Night Ladies night will be held by the Anaheim Elks lodge on Saturday night, January 28, beginnig with a 6:30 o'clock banquet, it was announced today. Dance chairman for the annual event will be Claude Barnett who stated a large group of Elks, their wives and guests, were expected. Harry Riley, vice-president of the California southern district of Elks, will be guest of local lodge members at their regular meeting next Wednesday night at the Anaheim lodge. Wednesday night, January 25, officers of the San Diego lodge will initiate new members into the Anaheim lodge. These dignitaries will be dinner guests of the local Elks. The second annual family day was held Monday beginning with the showing of the Rose parade on the club television set in the lobby. A potluck luncheon was served at noon. Motion pictures entertained the children while the adults had the opportunity to view the California-Ohio State game on television in the afternoon. General chairman of the day was Al Raymond. FORMER ANAHEIM FAMILY IN GERMANY Word was received this week from Chaplain and Mrs. J. K. Jung who recently settled in their new home in Weisboden, Germany, following her arrival in that city. Formerly pastor of the Grace Lutheran church of Anaheim, Chaplain J has been serving with the forces of the Army of Occupation in Germany for the past year. Couple's daughter, Joyce, is attending an American school near the new home. Frances Etchandy Claimed by Death Mrs. Frances Etchandy, 51 years of age, passed away at her home at 12311 Loraleen street, Garland Grove, on Monday, January 29th. Born in Yorbe she had reside in Orange county all her life; making her home at 401 West Alla ta street, Anaheim; for a number of years until moving to Garland Grove two months ago. The deceased was a member of St. Boniface Catholic church. Surviving are her husbands John; a son, John C. Etchandy; the home; a daughter, Mrs. Elyn M. Roper of Garden Grove; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Robbins of Ark Port, N. Y., Mrs. Marta Barron of Buena Park, and M. Ruth Etchandy of Buena Park; one brother, John Adot of Yuba Linda. Recitation of Holy Rosary will be held tonight (Thursday) at o'clock at Backs, Campbell and Kaulbars mortuary with Mass Friday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Boniface church.
